I'm in the process of getting my B20a installed and my mechanic tells me that the distributor doesn't work. He also he said that the bracket for the altenator needs to be different also. Anyone have any B20a distributors lying around? If not where is a good place to find one? And what about the alternator bracket? Thanks

Nope I have the one that comes with the A20 but now that I think about it I read somewhere that you will need to switch one of the axles out . I think this might be the cause of it.

oh ok random... and you can use a b20a5 dizzy on your b20a i think it fits. you may have to swap some wires round in the connectors if they are not the same....

you should be able to use your A20 alternator, you will just have to grind off some material on the side facing the adjustable bracket. Very easy to do.

How did he come to the conclusion that the B20A distributor didnt work?

The A20 a distributor doesn't work because the holes from the A2o distributor doesn't line up with the B20's holes

there was acouple of b20's at a-1 a couple of weeks ago.(dizzy)

if you are going to use the p/s you would probably have to make custom mounts or modify the ones you have.

who is diong the work for you?
judging by the questions you are asking leads me to belive that who ever is doing this for you is not a verry experianced machanic and or fabricator.

becareful you might end up with a nice shinny car that doesn't run.

Yeah I agree this mechanic has never done a swap before but he is Japenese lol. My car is at Kim's Auto tech. I wish I had the time to do it myself but I go to schol at night for 4 hours. Hey maybe we can hook up in a little bit cause I might go turbo with this engine

Well I don't think that the A20 powersteering pump will work at all. It doesn't even come close to fitting.

Nope. I can't drive it. The engine is still out of the car. The mechanic wants to put all of the pars on the B20 before it goes back in the car. I have the bracket from my A20 alternator.

I may get the day off tommarrow due to weather....what is you'r schedule like? i may be able to come down and see what you got going on.
I take it that you could'nt find a bracket at a-1...(for the b20)
I have a spare p/s bracket for the a20 if you need it..

Alright guys I have a few more questions. Can the A20 rear motor mount be modified to fiit the B20? Or will I be better off getting a B20A one? Or will the B20A5 rear motor mount work??And also can I use the B20A5 dizzy and crank sensor with the Pk2 ecu?? I read somewhere that you have to use the 86-87 integra dizzy and crank sensor

Yeah you are right. I mentioned that to them yesterday. I don't know if they have the tools to do it. You should swing by and take a look at it Jerry

Openloop i believe used a modified A20 mount. As for the distributor im using a first gen teg with my A20 ecu on my stock b20a. I would do some reading though because it didnt start right away when i ran my AEM EMS because the cyl sensor wasnt reading i had to reverse the wires if im not mistaken.
