in ny, if the car is older than 10 years old, nobody cares (DMV wont even ask mileage)

in tx i dont know what the cut off is but in the spot where the it asks for odo reading it says exempt on title and the last 2 years i've had it inspected it says the same thing on the paper they give u with inspection. the real reason for the roll back was to see if it was possable and had to replace the speedometer cable i figured nows the time since the dash is off. i figured some things are bendable laws not everone drives a 100% streetleagle daily driver every day. and alot of cops wouldnt know how to tell if something in your engine bay was diff or not. there are some states that where horse power limits on whats street leagle thou i have never heard of it enforced ever.

I should have done that when I rebuilt my motor. I have little over 200k miles on the odometer. Maybe 2,500 miles on the rebuild since then. (6 months ago)

that is cause i think that after the 2nd owner of mine, soething bad happened, ends up sitting on lawn for a while till they fix it and sell it, its just going through that phase again :)

Just because they don't check the odometer anymore doesn't mean its legal to do. I'm pretty sure it's illegal to roll back your odometer at all in all 50 states. The problem being that people could roll back old cars and say "oh yeah only 35,000 original miles on this old car!" and sell them like that.

ya i have to agree witcha there. but yet again, a high milage car could have been treated well and never abused yet a low milage car could have been to hell and back, there just numbers really. something better than milage would be how many hours the engine has been running or something :) o well i talk allota shit, i shud b getting sum sleep. good night peoples
