Ok, so throw on all the bolt-ons and N-O-S and headers, and other sorts of mods you want, but for goodness sakes don't swap the ENGINE!!! When you swap the engine, you totally alter the spirit of the car. If you want a totally different car, buy one. Otherwise, keep em pure please!! Just my 2 cents! :-,

well first of all, the b20a was a stock option motor for our cars. and altering the head and adding vtec is essentially swapping the motor as well.

Speak for yourself. Don't get me wrong, the b20a and a20 are solid motors, heck I plan to build a turbo a20 next year... but better technology is always a plus to me.

power is power... anything u can do to bastardize a car to make it better is good in my book.

stuff like ls1 if fd3 is the best! 5.0 in focus, 5.0 in miata, the infamous gmw (ls1 in m3)... i love them all.

^i was just thinking of how awesome an LS-1 in an accord would be... just freakishly awesome that's what it would be. get rwd too....

:( what have i done... :( :(

notice other than the focus (which i think they sell kits to convert to) none of these change the drivetrain layout.

the rwd accord project is fine but there is probably only one or two people on this forum with the skill to do this, and nobody wants to cause its a waste of time.

well i bet alot of ppl would do it if it was cheap...money makes the world go around. isnt the kart project rwd?....

well if its cheap and easy it becomes less of a waste of time now doesnt it?

edit: you dont actually expect that project kart to ever come to fruition do you?

the kart doesnt sound like a rwd 3gee to me (no offence FyreDaug) but its not a 3gee. i have all the time in the world to do a rwd 3gee, but no money or skills, unless of cause someone is willing to give me some :D

ok, i guess i need to specify this:

Creating a RWD 1986-1989 Honda Accord is a waste of the following:
bandwidth
time
money
resources
accord parts
brain power
perfectly good rwd drivetrain

and probably a whole lot more

well at least when its finished you can feel you have accomplished something youve wanted to do. but if you have alot of $$$ you can just pay someone to do it, save urself all the thinking and worrying, just ya money gone thats all

yeah its true that if this is something you want to accomplish then you will feel good about getting it done. nobody can take that away from a person. its their choice. its just that it would be a bad one. ;-)

then you have to think about what ELSE you could have accomplished with that same amount of resources on a different project.

lol i just like to give stuff like this a hard time, becuase i know that no matter how long i stay on this forum, i will never see this stuff. and i would happily be proved wrong, but i dont think that will ever happen in this case either.

part of me just thinks: why build rwd accord when you could build s2000, miata, ae86 even.... it just doesnt make sense to me when there are so many other platforms which are obviously superior in every way, except of course personal preference and morbid curiousity of just driving in a rwd accord.

my curiousity to see a rwd accord is outweighed significantly when i think about what i could do to my FWD accord for the same amount of time/money/effort.... or even another project like a miata, where the end result WILL perform better than an accord rwd project. probably in all areas too

Bah, I say who cares what other people think about what you do. Just do what you like to do. If you hack up a car and wind up with nothing but a hacked up car and parts laying around, then you've done more than most. Some people don't have any ambition to even want to do anything. I say if you've got ideas, thats a good start and may be enough to motivate other people to try that idea.
