I really hope this hasnt been asked before, i searched and didnt find anything so please dont flame me.

Im getting ready to buy an intake and exhuast setup, and Ive ehard good things about magnaflow on here.

I went on the website and listened to some of the sound clips, primarily on the 2.0 litre RSX (http://magnaflow.com/04sound/04sport.asp).

My question is, do our cars sound anything like this with magnaflows?
Also, I read resonators are helpful in getting rid of the honda rhasp.
Are these inline or only in the tip, and how much do the change the sound?

Sorry if I sound noobish, Ive never done exhuast before.
Im thinking Im going to goto a shop and have them mandrel bend me a 2.25" exhuast, and weld/bolt on my own muffler/test pipe (hooray for no emissions  )

Hey, sound isnt workin on my comp but I have a magnaflow resonator and magnaflow muffler on my car, its a nice deep sound, and is a bit loud, but nothing compared to most fart cans.

I will try to get a sound clip up in the next while, but I highly recommend magnaflow. Get the longest resonator possible if you want it to sound nice and deep.

A sound clip would rock =)

And im runnin a straight pipe after the cat... so most any muffler would be quieter.

I'm running a Magaflow also no resonator 2.25 pipe from the cat back and it does have a nice deep sound not :rice:

If you dont put a resonator in before the muffler you're nuts in my opinion.

Hash_man I was thinking about adding the resonator back to my system, is there any advantage to it?

I didnt install the current setup, it came with the car.

It makes the exhaust note deeper and quieter, and if its a high flow resonator then it doesnt really restrict exhaust flow. IMO, I do a fair bit of highway driving so I like a fairly quiet exhaust.

BTW, this is the muffler I have http://www.magnaflow.com/02product/shopexd.asp?zone=main&id=761

Im thinking of getting a single tip muffler, should i get the inline or offset?

I have a magnaflow muffler with 2.25 piping and a resonator up stream of it. While Maganflow is a good brand and the muffler is a high quality piece it gives me some rasp off throttle on decelaratioin. Other than that its nice and deep and I like the tone. The only thing I dont like is the rasp on decelaration. This is because Magnaflo uses non resonated tips and they make a little noise. I used to have a Remus dual tipped muffler and man i loved it. Unfortunately when it cam time to replace they were kinda pricey so I had to settle for a magnaflow. Still a very good muffler though. Sounds ok in my opinion i just have that one little gripe about it.

yeah the resonator works with the muffler to reduce noise, by making sound waves cancel each other out.....they make the sound deep like if you had a V8 under the hood.....im cheap so im just going to get a 2.25inch pipe with a magnaflow muffler and a nice tip

mine is 2.25" piping, a small generic resonator, and a magnaflow muffler and it sounds somewhat liket hat.....more raspy unfortunately, but it still soudns good.
