What Is This? Cruise Control Unit

well i was checking some things today and saw what looked to be either brake fluid or ac oil leaking. i found that it was leaking from a hose that went to the cruise control unit which i have taken out. anyway, after finding that was what was leaking i capped it off. i dunno where this hose goes to yet, but looks like it goes down into the inner fender somewhere. well check out the pix and tell me if you know what it is.

It's just a vent tube so moisture does not build up in the cruise control unit

really, what is the brake fluid like substance that comes up out of the hose? also, the hose in the engine bay was attached to the unit's smaller length of hose with a 90 degree elbow with no clamps. pushing the units diaphram in and holding a finger over the small hose on the unit creats a vacuum that holds the diaphram in place until let off, if that helps.

Possibly something spilled onto the hose as far as I can say, When I pulled my cruise control out the hose was dry and just hanging there.
Maybe oil buildup from a leaky valve cover or timing seal.

nah, thats not it. it was like brake fluid, not thick like oil. so i dunno where the hell this stuff came from. but it came out of this hose and went all over the engine bay. i had just washed the entire engine bay last week so i really noticed this leak.
