No, not me personally, but a truck I recently bought. It reeks real
bad, like severe B.O., when the weather is damp. I think the carpet
and the seat was under flood water during Katrina. I can't believe
the smell since the carpet and seat looks brand new; you would'nt
be able to tell that this truck was flooded at all by looking at the
interior. It's simply mint. I doubt a small animal crawled up and died
in there, so I'm guessing the carpet and seats are the culprit.
How do I go able deep cleaning them? I've seen carpet cleaning
machines in Walmart that have attachment for upholstery cleaning.
THey are kind of expensive. Has anyone tried them? Are they any
good? I don't want to spend $100 to find out they are gimmicks.
Please, help; it's extremely embarassing when passengers,
especially gorgeous hotties, contort their faces as they get into my
reak mobile.

Park in a garage with the doors open and a heater going. Throw baking soda onto the carpet and then vacuum it all out a day later. Repeat until stink's gone.

Should I pull all the carpets out before cleaning? I'm thinking the flood water
might have gotten under the carpets too. Oh, what a pita!

depending on the truck,
I have taken the seat and carpet out and pressure washed the carpet if the weather is good and dry to dry it out.
Also see if you can rent a professional model ionizer or ozonator whatever its called, , those things work awesome and take the smell away from anything. put it in the truck and let it run a day , or how ever long you feel like, I promise you the smell will not be there if you run it enough to tackle whatever it is.

Did you try some Febreze? Soak that bitch down with some febreze and see if that helps. If not, you may need to replace the carpet. For that, go to www.1aauto.com . I have ordered carpet from them before, and have carpet coming from them now too for my Accord.

As for the seat, febreze the hell out of it.

Also, park the truck in the garage to keep critters out, and leave the windows open and a fan blowing through it for a week or so. This should all hopefully get rid of that nasty smell.

Or, you could just offer your passengers a clothespin before they enter your vehicle???

like someone said before, let it sit with the windows open for a complete day. Its probbly just damp. If that doesnt work you might try taking the rug out and hanging out to dry along with the seats and letting those sit in the sun also.

well, i had this problem, kinda. when i had my ac working, at first it leaked from the evaporator box onto the carpet. it got onto the under side and onto the padding. that was what was smelling in my car. i just ripped that stuff out, and vacuumed the remaining water and crap out. has since fixed that problem, but now my ac dont work, sombitch! anyway, good luck. i'd also recommend taking the seats and carpet completely out and stuff just to make sure. but i dunno what you're going to do.
