i still have to put my se-i breaks on....i think the only other person that has dont rear disks used like a 1st gen legend...they change the lug patern to 4x114 tho.

hmmm i think it would be safer to get se-i rear disk breaks.

LX-i's dont have rear disks stock. Only SE-i's and there was never an se-i hatch.

I missunderstood what you wrote. I see what you mean, that was an SE-i.

well if the rear spindles aren't the same,are any of those parts worth getting? are the calipers usable for the sei setup? or the discs the same? it would seem everything would be the same but the spindle. I was wondering if they were the same because this 88 prelude has the double wishbone rear like a third generation. if the rear calipers are really hard to get for the sei would these fit the sei setup and be something to rebuild until I found an sei

The caliper sits on top of the rotor on the prelude, it sits on the rear of the rotor on the SE-i. I can't remeber if those preludes are 4x100 or not. Here are some pics of the SE-i setup.

SE-i prop valve not LX-i or you could get one from an 88 prelude like I did.

are you sure the master cyl won't work? I know mine has the same master cyl as the first gen teg which had rear discs. they have the same part numbers. I know the prop valve has to be changed,I can snag one of those at the yard no problem

the 1989 Accord SE-i and the 1988-91 Prelude SI use the same Master CYL
Both use : A-1 CARDONE Part # 112286
{[Master Cylinder] Reman.}

and the 86-89 DX/LX/LX-i's all use :
A-1 CARDONE Part # 112200
{[Master Cylinder] Reman.}

and the 1989 Accord SE-i and the 1988-91 Prelude SI use the same REAR ROTORS
BECK/ARNLEY Part # 0802253
Rear Brake Rotor, 2 Per Car

but on rear calipers the '89 SE-i uses
A-1 CARDONE Part # 191266
Rear Right; OE Metal Piston;Supplied w/o Mounting Bracket {[Caliper w/Installation Hardware] Reman.} http://info.rockauto.com/Cardone/191266.jpg
A-1 CARDONE Part # 191267
Rear Left; OE Metal Piston;Supplied w/o Mounting Bracket {[Caliper w/Installation Hardware] Reman.} http://info.rockauto.com/Cardone/191267.jpg

and the 1988-91 Lude SI
uses:
A-1 CARDONE Part # 191228
Rear Right; OE Metal Piston;Supplied w/o Mounting Bracket {[Caliper w/Installation Hardware] Reman.} http://info.rockauto.com/Cardone/191228.jpg

This can't be right, the prelude is a 35/40 and the SEi is a 40/40.
