i don't really know how rare the SE-i's are, all i know is they are damn hard to find. I have been looking for some while now, more or less for parts(rear disks, center console) for quite some time.

I almost gave up when I was leaving work with a friend and he was joking when he said this: "You should buy that broken ass accord from across the road from our work! ha hahahahha". I didn't really think any thing of it until i drove by it and seen alum Honda rims.

Front passenger wheel looked like it was slammed into a curb pretty bad, so its busted all the way around(somehow still holds air).

So after work i stop in at the house it was sitting at, and asked if they were interested in selling the car since the body is still in decent shape(i think) and she said ..............yes. she basically wanted money for the new parts that she just put into it.

how the car ended up there:

she owned the car for about 4 years, shes been very happy with the car keeping it maintained and whatnot (has all papers of work done and history).

the car was stolen, taken for a joy ride then left on a sidewalk.ICBC would not cover it since they said that it was technically not stolen since the person had keys to the car. so they pretty much wanted to write it off. anyhow after some time bitching and fighting with ICBC about it they all came to a conclusion that it could get fixed, but was going to run her 1700 bucks. so this is where the car ends up.

i have it at my garage, and i will get pics tomorrow from it and evaluating the suspension damage. i plan on robbing parts of my hatch for it to get it drivable (i will replace them, don't worry).

chances are i will be setting this car up for auto x and the hatch will goto the wife. only down side to the sei is its auto trans.

in the end, she wanted 300 for the parts, everything works except the power antenna and the ac. theres my story lol. what ya think?

Good stuff... thats a pretty good find. What kind of condition is the body in? sedan or coupe? and what colour?

BTW the 2 sei's I have owned the AC didnt work, and neither have the antenna's lol.

10-28-2006, 03:11 AM
sedans have that international appeal like a luxery sports, which is the trend nowa days, a 3G with the right drop and wheels and trim looks like a bmw or benz, even better to me cus I hate beamer drivers...most of them anyway
There is coupe se-i across the highway up from my house has been sitting a while, I would go askabout it but then Im scared I would buy it and that is the last thing I need to do right now... I think some mexicans are renting the house. It has two tailpipes side by side, factory, all car is unmodified looking. would that mean B20 inside?
I have seen a few sei in junkyards lately,

I would switch the rear disk and bigger front disk over to the hatch and keep that as the auto-x. The hatch seems like a much better platform for track racing. I know it seems a little sacrilege to switch drum brakes over to and SE-i, but what the hell and SE-i hatch would be better cause everybody knows hatches are the shit.

its a sedan, i don't even think there are any coups in Kelowna, or i never seen one ever here. as far as auto cross goes, i know the SE-i weighs 200+ over my hatch, but heres my reasoning.

my family likes to attend my races so it would be nice if i could take them comfortably. the hatch has racing seats in it so they don't flip forward unless you spend 10 frigging minutes turning the screw on the side of the seat. the hatch also running the carb'd gas tank in it, and it becomes a pain in the ass to drive when it hits around half a tank. every corner you go around after that point, the car basically runs out of gas since there is no resivour for the EFI pump i put in there from my conversion lol. I give a full tank of gas around 150 - 200lb in weight, so if i can race the SE-i with next to no gas, that should put it close to the hatch with a full tank.

how much do you guys think a full tank of gas weighs ?
do they measure the vehicles weight with or without gas in it?

next year Merrit has some rally events going on, so that might be the alternate plan for the hatch. i don't really know what I'm doing with both right now, all i know is I'm fixing the SE-i asap so i can drive that and take the hatch off the road for work that i need to do to it, its moving into winter here and i have lots of time to decide. Swapping the rear disks do sound like a good idea tho :P

hey, i have pics on my comp, unfortunatly i cant remember my logon for my website to upload them or my permissions were changed on me, if someone else could host them i will send them to whoever would like to. thx

i've already removed the rear engine/tranny subframe that the ps rack is in, the passenger side lca mount point has a noticeable kink in the inside and is somewhat warped, and since i already have it removed, i might as well replace it and make this one driveable again, i feel sorry for it. you will see in the pics

send them to me, i'll host them. [email protected] and yeah, props on a good deal. i wish i could find/afford/have room for another car. i would so pick up an se-i. and just do a 5 speed swap on it if you want that added performance boost.

Man, that makes me miss my SE-i Coupe. Frikin' hurricane Charley a couple years back toppled a huge oak tree over my poor SE-i. Insurance gave me $1000 for the car and I also managed to strip all the SE-i goodies like the armrest, ECU, rear disc brakes, bigger front brakes, prop valve, master cylinder, and the SE-i wheels . All of the parts minus the wheels are on my LX-i sedan now. The wheels and tires are sitting in my garage. They're just too nice and rare to give up...hehe. So I use them on the Civic from time to time for when I get a flat or just feel like rolling on lighter wheels for a while. Here was a nice old pic of it:

thanks dude!!!!! yer awesome. the more i look at it, the more i dont want to part it for my hatch.

it ended up at the wrecking yard right after icbc sent it without her permission, it never got processed, so the title never changed, thats just there stickers.

for 300 bucks i think i got an alright deal.

on the 3rd to last pick you can see on the right where its kinda stretched uptop and kinked underneath where the lca bolts to.

ook. i thought that meant it'd gone off a cliff or something. lol. unlikely, seeing the condition it's still in on the outside. but yeah, for $300, that is a good deal.

lol holyshit if that ever happened, i dont think it would be even good as a doner car, nah i'm gonna fixer and driver. the hatch will get love still, just not as much.

the car being almost 300lb heavier than the hatch in its current state just will not do if i'm going to race it.

Looks like it needs some work!

WP, just buy that thing and sell it to someone on here, you know someone will buy it eventually. And probably for more than $500. A manual SE-i coupe is about as rare as it gets!

its finally finished, i ended up pulling the parts off the hatch which i will replace with EX-i parts once i can find one with bigger brakes since thats more of a race car now, it will need them.

for an auto, thing moves pretty good i think.
just a q, is it common for the reverse lights to stop working?

i will post pics.

yep, the list goes on and on with these SE-i's, but i think its going to stay as a light autox-family car, the hatch will be more for serious events since its naturally 200lb lighter, if anyone knows where i can get a 3-5gal fuel cell dirt cheap(like that will ever happen), i'm all over it lol

the bose stuff i'm taking most of out anything since the components dont work, but i think the speakers do, so they stay, i have bose tweeters out of a mazda 3 that would complement them i think.

Not bad Chris, the interior is in horrendous shape but aside from that it looks pretty straight, for a 20 year old car at least.
