That car looks good to be 20 years old. That in way better shape than my friends 86. The body is in real good shape. The headlights and hood line up perfectly. The interior looks to be in like new condition. I like the SE-i wheels too. Just get the molding piece on the driver side rear door from a junk yard or something. Good job, keep up the work.

My family got it back on July 12th 2001, we needed to find a new car because our 1991 Dodge Colt Vista's tranny locked on the driveway, where my mother worked they have a white 1986 LX-i hatchw/ 480,000 miles! so my mother rented it from her boss for about two weeks, in that time I really started to like the 3gee, well I looked in our local free paper and found a 1986 Honda Accord w/ 178K miles for $2,500, so I call the guy up he really nice and we set things up for him to drive up and show the car, well the family fell in love with it and it worked out great! cuz little did we know that my grandmother would get cancer and we'd have to comute back and forth to fresno (130 miles from here) sometimes twice in a day!

Then I got it last year, after I sold my 1985 Cadillac Seville.

It's been a decent car, & i'm sure I'll feel alot better about it once the rebuilt carb and everything are installed!

Thanks for the great comments everyone!

And oh yeah THIS IS MY 500TH POST!!!

nothing major, just stock replacement

i'm only replacing it because my Cat has a rust hole in it along with a hole the size of a $1 Coin in my Resonator (IT SOUNDS RICE!!!!!!!!!!!!!) and the exhaust is super rust because of the car living in NJ from 11/18/85-2/??/92 and then living in major snow country from 92-01!
I already bought it just need to install:

Bosal Flex Pipe
Catco High Flow (REAL CAT) Cat
and Walker Cat Back w/ Quiet Flow 3 Muffler (NO RICE SOUND!!!!)

Thanks for the comments but the cars, DOA at the moment.

The body has more rust then when posted, and also the Valve Guides and Carb have gone, so mechanically it's not in that great a shape though, Sigh.....

http://img251.imageshack.us/img251/3361/3gandbenz004mediumig1.jpg

Well I ran a compression test and I get 70-75 PSI on all Four CYL, also the car needs valve guides and some other work, so the cars gonna sit for a while.

I'm hoping to get a 88-89 LX-i so I can swap over alot of my new parts!

Wouldn't that be a stepup from a POS, since a POS would technically be just a turd, no tires?

LOL

First off it has 207,000 Miles.

My mom couldn't drive a clutch worth a damn, so I'm kinda worried about that, LOL

but nah I talked it over with my family and I can get a loan on another 3G, so I'm going to start looking.

SO Anyone in northern California with a 1988-89 Honda Accord LX-i or SE-i with under 200K miles (Unless Rebuilt) let me know!

I don't care if it's AUTO or 5 SPEED
I want any color then black, unless it's in great shape.

Thanks :D

Update:

Well the car will soon live again!
During the week I did the following:
Unlocked Drivers Door
Opened Door
Pulled Hood Release
Opened Hood
Found Hood Prop
Removed The Plastic Covering From Engine Compartment
Installed Battery
Installed my 1997 Honda Prelude CD Player (Many thanks to ghettogeddy)
Turned Key to ACC
Entered Anti-theft Radio Code
Inserted a Mix-CD into the CD Player
Cranked the Vol.
Now to the stuff that matters:
I Scraped the old Carb to intake gasket off of the intake mani (Thanks to Lost & A18A for your help on that matter)
Cleaned the intake
Finally un-boxed the new rebuilt Carb I bought for the car (Thanks to RAMTHIS)
Found the gaskets I bought from honda almost a year ago
Finally Installed the BRAND NEW REBUILT CARB!
Removed and Cleaned the EGR Valve and installed a new gasket
Removed the Air Suction Valve and replaced Gasket
and dumped some gas directly into the Primary Barrel of the CARB and finally heard the car run after almost a year.
Next things are to include:
Cutting off the rusted exhaust with a Sawzall
Installing Newer Exhaust Mani
Installing New Flex Pipe, Cat, Cat Back
Installing New Fuel Lines
connecting all the vacuum lines..................
changing Coolant, Oil, Oil Filter, etc.........
as I've Said before I'm still selling the car, Civic Accord Honda's Family will be buying it come July, and before you say I'm dumb and the car is going to get destroyed, I have made a agreement with CAH that if he touches certain things on the car, or installs a wing, and or other articles of “RICE”, I will promptly kick his ass.
I'm hoping the car will be a better start for him and his family vs there POS 1988 LX-i.
Also as Stated before I WILL be getting another 3rd Generation Accord, but Fuel Injected, as soon as possible.

Well The time has come for the FINAL Update.

As many of you know I was having several issues with the car and things just got worse.

Then my father went out to a local campground and ended up getting into some hard core drugs, Well he beat the car with a hammer and a sword and Atemped to kill my family, he ended up beating on of our dogs to near death, thank goodness we were hiding at a local hotel and the police were on alert, so he went to jail and has been there.

Anyways the car is done, I've already been parting it, but I thought I'd post some final pictures and bring the story of this car to a end.

SO heres the pictures, As she sits now,

Engine:

So in the next Few weeks i'll be looking to get the car hauled off.

I'm hoping as I've been looking for MONTHS that I'll be able to find a Decent 1988-89 Accord LX-i or SE-i for under $1,000 in my Area, But we'll see....

The Halfway house he will be at is only 10 miles away, he only got 3 months from a six month sentience that would of been 2 years if he had been in front of a jury, this sucks
