While shopping for a friend, we saw an accord hatchback with an A20A2 carbed.
was an 86 model.

What about the BS and BT designation for motors? Were they only used for one year(1986) or more?
I just swapped out my original motor a20a1 for an 86 accord dx motor with the "BS" designation on the engine block.

BS = A20A1
BT = A20A3
Those are the old style honda codes, they swithed them in 87 i think. You could tell people you have a b series motor swap in there and technicaly be right ;).

How do I find out what kind of engine is in my car. It is an 89 lxi.
Is it stamped on the engine somewhere or is there a label under the hood somewhere or what.
Just curious.
thanks y'all
peace out.

Its stamped on the block next to the trans on the exhaust side of the motor. There is a little flat out croping that its stamped on, problably covered with 13 years worth of grime.

a20a4 is also found in some australian and european model accords
It figures that the carbed motors are labeled BS lol
