Tools needed:
10mm socket
phillips head screwdriver

All you need to do is take off the plastic covers on each side of the sunroof on the inside of the car using the screwdriver. Once you have them off you need to take off the 8 10mm nuts holding in the glass. once those bolts are out you can push the glass out the top of the car. there are shims between the bracket and the glass that you need to put back in when you put in the new glass. Put the new glass in through the top and allign it with the brackets. Then install the shims and put on the 8 nuts and tighten them down. After everything is tight pour water on the top and make sure there ae no leaks, if there are any leaks just add shims on the side it is leaking from. Once there is no leaking you can install the plastic covers over the nuts and then your done. I will update with pics when i can.

cool, guess the same could be done for our '02 accord. its not old enough to leak yet though. i was thinking of putting in a factory sunroof from another sedan into my 3gee though.

If you need pics of a sunroof unit out of the car, or any specific areas, let me know and I will take some for you. I just grafted a sunroof unit and part of the roof structure from one 3G to another 3G that did not have a sunroof.

i thought so, i saw that a few weeks ago. do you happen to have the weight of the sunroof unit? i'm guessing around 35 lbs or so.

This is the plastic cover that you take off to get to the nuts.

Now all I need to do is find someone who can give me a piece of carbon fiber the exact size of that glass.

Do you want a piece to COVER existing glass, or REPLACE the glass alltogether? I can make you a cover piece real easy, but making a replacement glass might take me a little longer. I do CF by the way, I used to do composite layups and moldmaking for my job in the UAV Aircraft industry......

And I happen to have some CF cloth left over from some other small projects....
