ok just so the others are in on it

We're trying to get a SOCAL/MIDCAL/NORCAL going. the monkey and cheese/san fran meet went awesome so why not try for a all cali meet? the other thing is that i was saying we could shoot for spring break. i know some of you guys are still in school so you would need to either ditch or wait for a vacation week or whatever. spring break is a great idea. its a far enough date to leave time for people to prepare (as in getting a day or two off of work and blah blah blah).

anyway let the discussion begin. and can someone rename the thread to socal/midcal/norcal meet? haha

only on are strret i have some famley on the other side of town and its nice no drugs or anything but on are street its real bad gun shots all the time cops are doing drug busts all the time so in my hood its real bad but on the other 75% is all good

well i liked geddy's idea of all just pitching in like 10 bucks and we could just order a shitload of pizza's haha. but i say we need to find a park somewhere. that way we can either do the pizza thing or do another bbq. whatever is fine with me.

well we need more than 4 guys to pitch ideas...but it does not sound half bad. we still need a real date to set up and hopfully some one knoes that area so we dont get lost.

It would sure be great to get as many as or even more of us for this Spring break meet as we had here in SF. Hi Geddy! My 'cord is OK 'cept I got new brake pads and have to get the squeal out (happens only on low speed light touch and after brake pads not warmed up yet). I don't think this is too much of a problem. Great to hear from you, too, Picopop! Nothing really new 'cept the engine is all apart on the garage floor on the other ride -- crappy timing chain tensioner failed (not a Honda! -- well, therein lies the problem, eh?!?) Is this meet going to be sometime in April? Somebody mentioned Monterey? Steinbeck country (Cannery Row), huh?

hahahaha age... yeah well i hope to have it running about two weeks after i get it. i am going to put it in as is with a good tune up just to make sure everything is cool. i will run it for a bit but then when i am ready to put my new doors on and paint all the jambs, i am going to pull it back out for the build and so i cant paint the engine bay.

So IF you all were thinking about Monterey for our April meet, these are some links you can look at to figure out where you all wanna go. I realize we aren't going there to see a bunch of touristy sites but anyway:

Easter is April 8 so for those who attend school, is April 7 or April 14 the only Saturdays you can make or does Spring Break last 2 weeks? I don't know which date will or will not work for us out of the four proposed (Apr 7 -- day before Easter, 14, 21, 28). Right now for us, 21 & 28 look better than 7 & 14; BUT, again, that could change. It's just too early to tell. It is hoped that we can be at the meet just as much as everyone else can make it whenever the date will be. Are there dates that are absolutely not gonna be possible for someone at this time? That way you all can start narrowing it down for those who need an answer now??? I'm not rushing for an answer...I'm just tryin' to help those who need to request time off or hurry up or delay the fixin' of their rides or whatever. lol.
Just FYI, this past April, the weather in Monterey (IF that is still where we're having the meet) was:
Apr 1, 2006: partly cloudy
Apr 8, 2006: clear, partly cloudy
Apr 15, 2006: overcast, lt rain
Apr 22, 2006: overcast, mostly cloudy
Apr 29, 2006: overcast, lt rain
We don't know what the weather will be like come Apr '07, but I'm wondering if you all still hold meets in the rain. :huh:

there's a lot of nice parking structures around the monterey bay aquarium, but if the meet is on a saturday they'll be packed. there are plenty of turn-offs and cliff over-looks that make for great shots. though, i've never had to pack 20 cars onto a road shoulder...

i'll go! berkeley's spring break is in late march, so i'm not entirely sure how open my schedule will be in april. just keep me posted

The Spartan cell where Serra lived is also recreated in detail. The $2 adult and $1 child museum entrance donation is to restore the mission. The grounds and mission are free. *We don't need to go inside the museum but since the grounds are free, maybe there will be room for all the rides? If it rains, we can go inside the mission!!

Fisherman's Wharf in Monterey sounds cool, too. I think Monterey is hostile towards vehicles because they charge for vehicular access to everything, and according to the Monterey Finance Department (handles parking fees/tickets), there seems to be 2-hr. parking max in that area. That parking lot on Geddy's map that says, "PARKING" in big red letters...it seems this "parking" is made up of a bunch of designated lots and the fee schedule is found in this link:

im so glad ur on our side cause i would have never thought of that lol i guess we can do it like any other meet i ever see and just do it in the palot of a shopping center that looks empty lol like in the way back lol but us cali folk like to be high class lol id pay 12 to be there for 8 hours lol but we could also get there early and pay for the municable wharf so we can park are cars right on the water lol

Cambria, huh? I believe that's about 6 miles south of San Simeon. Cambria hit ninety-something degrees one April...hmmm. I can't take the heat but most of the time it is around 60F. Mile for mile of driving, it makes sense to meet halfway as that is the definition of "fair," I suppose. Problem with me is that I cannot go on long trips due to health. Geddy says he can't ride too long either. We probably are in a lot of pain or discomfort (possibly requiring hospitalization) if we do it. So I guess, uh, if it's Cambria, I'm out along with 89StockLXi. No big loss that we don't go because we don't have anything to show vehicle-wise. It'll be sad not being able to meet up to just say, "hi!" I'm sure both Geddy & we-uns would go if we could to show you we would do whatever we could to meet up with you all, but we also don't wanna die. It's OK. You all decide what you all want...just thought I'd let you know. Thanks for trying to accommodate.

if anybody from the bay doesn't feel like driving the whole way they can meet me in san jose and i'll drive from there :)

she cant drive......here is how it went down...i went to modesto...then to dublin....then to san hoe...picked her up...and went to her house...it was around 150 miles....

and i bet he paid lol man i would never drive that far unless it was official or i was getting some lol shit i had a girl drive out form reno and ya u know and then she went back and the next weekend drove out to pick me up and take me ou to reo with her then bring me back 2 days later
