I have been thinking about lately. If i had a custom header and exhaust made. that is 2 sets of pipes indivdually like having 2 pistons getting a cat and a reso and muffler. i'm assuming that it would be bad for na cars.
i hope this is a not a :repost:

so you want to split exhaust from the cylinder head.
well, if you do that, you have to make sure you don't go with too big of a pipes. too big and you will start loosing power.
on the other note, i don't think there is enough room under the car to run two pipes.

i am not sure what you plan to accomplish by doing this? other than having a funky manifold. and even on motors like an EJ20/25 where the exhaust HAS TO be two separate manifolds, they all have to combine into one collector unless you plan on having a twin turbo setup with a turbo for each pair of cylinders. which is not probably the best use of your time, unless u are like whitey from hmt who did it just to do it... or abaz who is just crazy. :)

I was figureing if it was split from the header and running 2 cylinders with it's own set of exhaust it's either have to be 1/2inch or 2 inch running boost only.

just do it the right way....get a turbo mani made and have a 2.5 inch or even 3 inch exhuast done...cheaper than paying for 2 smaller pipes

so what a minute. are you trying to make ram air horns exhaust manifold for turbo or are you trying to make a header to run 2 small turbos?
if you want ram air horns there is a company that makes them, here (http://www.evolution-racing.com/store/exmanifold.htm).
if you want to run twin turbos, i think you will be waisting your time and a lot of money by doing that.

even tho it sounds logical, but when u talk about exhaust gas flow and gas vacuum, which is how the exhaust gases are normally pulled out from the cylinders. thats one of the reasons why you have a collector, not the main, but one of the reasons. With an exhaust setup like you just mentioned, you will drop Volumetric efficiency.
