Number one, if it hurts you in an accident, the accident must have happened when you were parked and had the E-brake handle pulled up or you wrecked while yanking the handle to slide..

And number two, if you get hit hard enough that you end up having the E-brake handle get you, I think you'll have other more serious injuries to worry about lol.

But, really, looks like crap IMHO. But to each their own......

I don't know how many times I've taken pics and my stuff always turns out looking dirty and gross. Especially on close ups of stuff in the center console. The car probably is clean or was cleaned, the flash just causes wierd stuff to reflect that you wouldn't normally see. I keep my interior pretty damn clean too.

number one like someone else said you will probably pinch your fingers on it when pressing the button.

number 2 there is a reason interiors are not made of all metal like car from 50's and so forth. In case of an accident your body moves in all types of directions and something as simple as boucing a hand of a plastic is now a gash on your hand from a bare metal rod with picnch points and sharp edges. Not to mention there are some people who like to rest their arms on the ebbrake handle an centr console and a quick jerk around it will probably cut you.

bottom line its not the safest idea and that is why I said what I said homey!

lol mr NHTSA...

sounds like my physics class....the longer your extend the time of impact the less chance of geting hurt.....kinda like a baseball...when you catch it you try to catch it rolling with the movement so your hand does not hurt....this is a universal law...the more pading the interior or the car has the less you will get hurt.

never had a problem with it pinching me. hmm. the spring on mine isnt exposed, not that i can see. i decided to polish it out because i thought it'd look nice. i have the boot for it, dunno why i took it off but i just never put it back and liked how the handle looked bare. it was kind rustyish looking so thats the main reason i polished it. i used a dremel type tool. first using a stainless steel brush to get the surface clean and somewhat polish it. then i used a felt polishing wheel with some polishing compound. finished it off with some mothers billet polish to keep it from oxidizing and it looks clean. oh, and it took me like 10 minutes. that was polishing and cleaning up.

it's gonna rust back up again, being mild steel.

billet polish is to fine to use. it's more of a finshing polish not really for defect removal and clean up. you should have used the mag and aluminum polish. i like it otherwise. later.

I see you can polish a rod pretty well. You seem to work wonders with your hand :kekeke:

PS: put the plastic back on, it looks like a naked chuwaka (that damn taco bell dog)

damn y'all have to rag on everything now days or wut? and no i'm not putting the boot back on just for that. hah! but yeah, if it gets some surface rust i can just redo it. it wasnt even hard and i could have polished it with a rag or something other than a rotory tool. but yeah......

You know what it reminds me of? A dog's extended genital organ... AKA the red rocket. Except in this case it's silver.

I'm sorry.

Anyway, it would look good with a stripped interior but I think it stands out from the rest of the car too much this way.

i dunno, probably gonna polish the distibutor and thermostat housing. i'm going to go over the take manifold with a wire wheel with my rotory tool, i did a portion and it came out nice. but of course this is something that will need to be done again and kept up. just the kind of thing you have to do with bare polished metals.

ghettogeddy

u could alwas do the valve cover too

i also have me thermostat housing done thats y i was woundering about how u did the handle

way ahead of ya man. this is off a 2nd gen prelude. not perfect, but thats how i like it. but does get a lot of complements when i pop the hood. just got that header too, not too many people have seen it yet. i'm also working on polishing out some 13 inch honda wheels. just havent had time to work on them lately. if i could find a aluminium hand brake cover, i'd probably go for that for sure. love polished aluminium.

the more polished aluminium i have the better, imo. sure does get a shit load of complements when i meet random people. especially when they find out i've done it myself and not had to have someone else do it for money. guess you have to see it in a different way to appreciate polished metals.

hell yeah. the small rotory hand tools i have are kinda old. ones a black and decker thats cable driven from the motor to the end of the tool, is mutispeed. the other is a rechargeable craftsman 2 speed hand held size tool. i'll just have to take some pictures of them so y'all can see what i work with. i plan to get a bench polisher like we have in my body shop class, that was very nice and made polishing go quickly and easily.
