spray foam is nasty shit, it traps moisture against the metal causing it to rust more

well there are some that need to be,he needs to donate all the good parts to us then put that one out of it's misery. what was that number for Honda abuse? I think all they can do is put it down. poor little guy. if the outside looks like that, imagine what the inside looks like and the engine. isn't that a puddle of oil under it? I would almost guarantee the exaust is missing too.

That is actually called "Tuff Stuff"... I had to put a sheet metal floor pan in a 92 Dodge (Sundance) Duster not long ago & used it to keep water from coming up in the floorboard. Sometimes inginuity & what works makes a car go the 'last leg' of life. Salty roads takes a toll on cars.

Salty roads takes a toll on cars.I'm from the north and it's a fact that if you wash off the salt regularly and keep the paint undamaged, your car will not look like that,I could see a detroit car looking like that, but these cars have excelllent corrosion protection and it's just a matter of taking care of them. that huge rust spot could have been fixed when it started.

i see that car around all the time makes me sad when i see it. its got the look of sadness when you see it coming towards you.

the kicker about that car is if the owner new about the gascap recall he could goten it fixed for free when the rust started...

o and thats the canadian tire parking lot downtown.

spoted this near mint one the same day just down the street from canadian tire

Not mint, back end's been repainted, badly, not even close match to the rest of the car. Probably been hit hard in the back end.

well yeah, if you want a salvage title, of course there's an inspection then. we have a salvage title on one of our vans so it had to be inspected. but we californians don't have to go in annually or every two or three years or something to get our cars inspected here in cali like they do in other places. that's what i think cah meant and so that's what i was replying to.

Civic Accord Honda

yup yup yup no annually or 2 year thing like other states
so what dose a car have to have to pass for a salvage title i am thinking of picing up a car at the junk yard :)

idk, i wasn't there. but i'm guessing that it depends on the condition of the car, the frame (whether it's straight or not), the suspension, emissions (:thumbdn:), stuff like that.

The rule of the game is to 'ride untill your seat falls out the bottom, or the engine dies out & can't be fixed'.

the gas cap recall wouldn't have stopped the rust,it only prevents the filler neck from falling out. I live in the south and had that done,I had to take it out because gas door never worked right again. I looks like something that was hammerered together by monkeys in a sweatshop somewhere. it's supposed to sit inside the gas door and the studs that hold up the filler neck go through it. it changes the geometry of the gas door hinges and makes the release mechanism function wrong.
