cold air....lol on a carb he would need the civic air box mod. anyways if you dont have emission testing get a webber carb. later get headers then a cat back.

you should do vacum removal from your carb.

save that $200 for 6-8 weeks and buy an lx-i or se-i.

yeah snoopy you are right....carbs are somewhat limited but you can still make em fast.

yeah, and it also depends on how much driveability he still wants. no offense to the op, but most people don't do very well with carbs and find them hard to deal with. i know i for one am one of those people. and to get the same numbers out of the carb that we get out of the efi engine and still have it as a dd (if that's what he wants, of course) is improbable. it sounds like our friend here is in search of something he can buy parts readily for and just put them on to gain power. if that's the case, i think the best thing you can do is get a delta cam (<$100). 272 for a dd or 282 if you like living in the higher revs. that, some pacesetter headers (<$200 brand new), high flow cat (~$50+), custom catback (~$200+) or pacesetter catback (<$250). do the civic airbox mod and get a cai (<$100). and that's for brand new parts. buy used parts to save even more $$$. but right there, for under $1000 (or according to your budget, about a month), that's basically everything you can do for bolt-on performance, whether you're carbed or efi. but you'll see more power out of that set-up on an efi engine unless you match it with some good carbs and get them properly tuned.
now, if you're not looking for performance first but rather looks, read the suspension threads carefully. but in a nutshell, be prepared to spend money for a good set-up on your suspension. same for audio.

So you got about $800 for your car each month? Do this save for 5 months and you got yourself 4k maybe you can sell your 3g for 1k or more so in total you could have about 5k in five months. Use your money and get yourself a better car. Carbs are not very easy to tune and most tuner shops wont work on them. They are also not cheap to get them to run right or fix carb problems. Plus if you have no auto experience whatsoever, its gonna cost you quiet a bit of money to have everything that snoopy said you can do install. Now unless you really like the 3g style then sell your 3g and get an lx-i or se-i. But be warned that even these two 3gs arent the easiest to get power out of and you can spent small fortune making good hp with n/a bolt ons unless you go turbo and again that aint cheap but then you should have a decently quick car. Just think about it before you sink money into your 3g.
