you need the entire B20A with ECU wiring, etc. but you can swap that for the A20...
I dunno if you can pass smog,...
if not get the B20A and use the A20A1 intake manifold with stock carb... but I dunno if you can pass smog without having an AS valve on the exhaust manifold.

only the 2nd gen will fit with no custom brackets.....
1. do a fuel injection swap
2.find the motor and tranny with everthing
3. install it.
4. pray to 3geesus that you pass smog

dont get the wrong motor....the b20 fromt he prelude 88-91 will not fit into our cars....plus they only have 140hp....an a20 with bolt on can pull that much hp.

I'm just hoping I can find a good motor.
with all the components.

the 2nd gen lude did not come with a stock b20....they came with a18 and a20s.

so the 88-89 ludes, just as long as the motor leans to the front. I think. getting confused. but I think its from the 3rd gen then.
damn! I got confused. I'm trying to pay attention in class and such. not a good idea.

dude why in the hell would you want to get a lude engine...the only lude engine i would put in my car would be an h22.
and for the b20a5(88-91 lude) its not worth it..i dont think anyone has done it. cuz its pointless.

How much mechanical experience do you have? That will be a big project to do a motor swap along with converting to fuel injection. If you get the wrong engine you are going to be really pissed off becuase you might not find out until you have your current motor and all out and that would be really bad. If you do a A20A1 to A20A3 swap ot will give you 120HP and its a lot easier a swap, then just do some bolt-ons and some head work and you can get 160HP. It all depends on your mechanical experience though, if you have done things like that before then give it a shot, but if not i would go for the A20A3 swap and bolt-ons.

naa I got experience 3 yers worth. almost finish with my my degree and shit for automotive, but I just wanted to get the right info. I can do it myself but sence its already here I'd do a little research.
the a2oa3 swap sounds good but I want the dual overhead motor and the power/torque. I don't mind the work, that's what comes with fixing cars. so that's cooh with meh. just want to get the correct info. so what ever I have to do to get that motor in their, its done.
all cars that i know of didnt come with a dual over head motor ;)
you can get a b18a from a jdm 85-89 accord, that has 130hp and 120ft lbs (i think), thats a straight bolt in and its dual carbed so you wont have to worry about a ecu :) but it might not be worth it since you would have to find one and import it and install it just for another 30 or so hp. and its kinda hard to find.
but i think it would be best with the a20a3 like they said

yea the motor sounds like it'll be hard to find. but ill check into that as well. I just want to swap a better motor in my car that can run a lot harder than my a2oa1.

no, you're not gonna go to the jy and grab a b20. you can't because the b20a that bolts into the 3g accord was never offered as an option in the north american market. if you want a b20a, you must first locate one outside this continent (because almost all the ones here aren't up for sale right now) and then pay someone to have it shipped to you here. and if you're due for smog, pass smog first then do the swap. to do the swap, go to the "how-to" section of this forum and look at the carb-->efi swap instructions. it's basically the same, but with the b20a instead of a20a3. also, when you source that motor, make sure you can get it with as many additions as possible. aka get the axles, tranny, ecu, and any other parts that you can grab to make the swap as complete and pain-free as possible. and don't bother going on password:jdm or any of those other engine importers to get it. they're worthless and will tell you either a. you're crazy, there's no such engine or b. that the engine you want is from the 88-91 lude and send you one of those. if you're interested in getting one, contact either carotman or wohdog on this forum. they're the likeliest ones to be able to hook you up.
