never seen that car before. I remember a champage looking car that made some enclosures like that one a couple of yrs back. Lot of red. Would look better if there was another color to set it off.

lol i thought someone took a rhd dash and lhd dash and put them together so there would be no gauges :P

Red disturbs the mind, so i see no point of having it on the inside of a car. It doesn't look good in my opinion, the outside tho looks pretty good. the moving of the gauge cluster is odd, it just doesn't look right.

Where oK, did you find the picture? That pic looks like a professional set with the background and all.
It looks dam good, but I dont care for the location of the digiguage setup exactley. and somebodies Full Throttle slushie from Sonic must have sexploded in the cockpit.....good or bad, it seems too familiar..rofl...
I totally disagree with it looking eightys, or rice was cool before fried rice errr fast and furious rice..... what ever. for example, the wheels, lowered techniques, guages saturn style, blackout corners, speaker enclosures, Hey I see alot about that car that was not even around in the eighties except maybe in concept. The red out interior, yep eighties fer sure. the rest of the car....
Pre milliniuem maybe , but not eighties...but then I could go on to say what eighties was cause I was borned already by then...
lotsa stickerd up cars, colored out, disco light turned trans am dash guage bezels, dull alloy wheels, fog lights, blah blah blah

I'm talking about the interior

The exterior is actually very sleek. And if you think I was saying that in a bad way then you are not aware of my preoccupation with 80s cars.

Hey thats the prelude automatic shift handle
(Anybody Want One I got One) Does the lude shift handle fit with no mod bolt on and works like OEM?? Thats looking very nice.

I had a good look at the web page of these pictures. These are from a shop called Kemper in Kyoto (not Tokyo) Japan. They are specialised in making 'custom' car. It says, they do full body paint, smoothing, lowdown, aero parts, alloy wheel, exhaust, custom audio, security, leather seat, leather steering, interior paint, custom counter panel, decals, etc. I think they are interested in styling. I can read Jap because I am genius.

The car in question is 1989 Accord US coupe (exported model to Japan)

Interior is nasty as hell!!! TOO much red, needed something to offset it, like a black or grey or white or some kind of contrast.

I recognized the Dakota Digital guage setup, nice. Just that it needs to be in line with the driver. Centered looks like crap IMO and not practical at all.

They were sold like brandnew play station lots of people waited making lines and sold out in 2 seconds. It was a kind of odd cos Honda is Japanese company and importing their product from USA, but is true.

I just had to drill new side mounting holes Cool! Is that from 2nd gen Lude right?

Yes, but while it was being worked on... not completed, the dash was still stock.

Unless he purchased those speaker housings from the guy I saw making them.

Yup, Honda had just opened their new US manufacturing plant, I think this was the Ohio one. This plant was the only place the Accord Coupe was produced, so any other country that got them had them imported (It wasn't like people were importing them privately, they were sold through dealers like the-made in England-EP3 Civic Si, and built to JDM specs.)
And now you know why the 1988 Accord Coupe is the one you get to play as in GT4, even though we all want to drive one with a B20A.

aaaahhhhh. i though all 3geez were made in japan. would i be silly to go buy gt4 just to drive my own car?

speedpenguin
11-26-2006, 08:06 AM
No, hell, that's the main reason I bought it. :D

As a bit of trivia, certain items produced in Japan for export and then re-imported by private companies are called re-imports and are actually rather hotly contested among certain groups. Two examples are motorcycles (We might get the shaft on cars but JDM is not necessarily the holy grail for motorcycles) and porn DVDs (The good bits are washed out or digitally masked in Japanese releases).

Also remember that not all Japanese car parts are necessarily better, it's not unheard of for Japanese NSX owners to put Acura badges on their cars. It's part of the reason we like JDM here. Foreign=exotic.
