Those are bosh injectors, ID1000's to be exact. there good for about 1600cc @ 100 psi fuel pressure. the little deals are adapter's for the b seiries intake.

Holy balls. Are you running alcohol then?

what do you guy think about the placement?

http://img26.imageshack.us/img26/7013/random010o.jpg (http://img26.imageshack.us/i/random010o.jpg/)

http://img707.imageshack.us/img707/3762/random011.jpg (http://img707.imageshack.us/i/random011.jpg/)

I am not married to the placement, but so far this is the best fit without making the the charge pipes too long.

I could go the way everybody else does but, I don't like the turbo right behind the radiator.
If thats the best way to go convince me.

Rendon LX-i
03-19-2010, 06:19 AM
looks good man. Thatst going to be one sick manifold

Tdurr
03-19-2010, 06:59 AM
eh, I mainly have mine the way i do cuz of the DP placement and the charge pipe off the turbo faces a weird way. (not straight down like its supposed to, it hits my hood latch bracket)

guaynabo89
03-19-2010, 08:06 AM
is that the compressor housing your going to be using?

89T
03-19-2010, 11:25 AM
yeah, I'll be waiting on flanges so I may see if i can find a different compressor housing. So far it's not bad. The bend allows for the turbo to get around radiator with 3 inch charge pipe.
I would rather not have 2 bends right at the turbo.

Tdurr
03-19-2010, 01:16 PM
i would try and get a different compressor housing for sure. it just looks wrong facing the front of the car like that.

Rendon LX-i
03-19-2010, 05:38 PM
im getting the same turbo here in a week or so. but the one im getting is a straight snout with a vband style lip which im going ti grind off the lip so i can run a cupler over it. You have the hx40 correct. maybe getting a hx35 comp housing.

89T
03-19-2010, 07:10 PM
Sadly It is not a hx40. My conversation with the seller led me to belive it was a he351 whitch i would be very happy with. It ended up being a Hy35.
I figure I'll try it, for now. Maybe.. I still might sell it on ebay.
I have been looking fo a different housing but nothing yet.

From what i read it will hold it's own at 450hp so i don't know.

Rendon LX-i
03-19-2010, 10:06 PM
then you might have to sell it to me if i dont get that one i want. PM for price

AccordEpicenter
03-21-2010, 09:08 AM
hy35 will support 450+hp but ive never seen another compressor housing than the one you have as far as the compressor outlet orientation... still a nice turbo though. Can you cut and re weld the compressor outlet to have it point in a different direction or is that too much work? you might be better off with an hx35 with its bigger twin scroll turbine... the hy35 9cm turbine housing is a bit on the small side, spools fast but becomes restrictive at high boost. what are your goals jerry? An HX40 might be a bit on the large side...

I want 600hp, will i get it? not with this turbo. I may get it with a hx, but that will mean holding out longer. The best I'd get with the 60-1 is 480-490hp with the larger exhaust housing, and will run out at about 25psi. The hy can run 30-35psi but may run out on the top end also.
I am running the fi tranny with shorter gears than the carb tranny. So I am hoping for a wash of sorts.
what do you think?

I don't even know how the cam is going to act so It's all up in the air till then.:)

AccordEpicenter
03-25-2010, 06:24 PM
The 60-1 is an older design, good, but there are more efficient turbos out there, and the HY wont cut it due to the restrictive exhaust housing, so you might be fine with somthing as big as an HX40, or GT35R, or a Precision SC61-S trim (the SC61S has a similar compressor section as a GT35R without ball bearings or without the extreme cost for that matter) so a turbo change is inevitable for 600hp. I recall a 5G accord with a built H22 making like 620whp with a GT42R or GT40R turbo, im not really sure which. At this point I really wouldnt worry about going real short with the gearing, with the longer final drive youll be in boost longer and putting more load on the engine which can help with spooling up a big turbo.. but really either tranny is fine. If it makes a difference to you i have an lx-dx tranny in my car now instead of my old lxi trans.

Rendon LX-i

I may have a line on a hx35, but i wont know till the weekend.

AccordEpicenter

GT35R can support more power than HX35, say 520hp to 650hp.... But it depends what compressor wheel the HX35 has, some had 7 fins some had 8. The 8 fin hx35s were good to around 520 and the 7s were good to nearly 600. The HX40s were like that too, 8 fin was like 600 and the 6 or 7 was good to almost 700hp. If you had an HX40 you should have more than enough turbo. Im gonna see how well my engine responds to boost, and break it in, get some tuning done, then going for high boost. My setup is 600hp capable but im gonna be conservative and try for 500 if I feel like the engine can do it without really stressing it

still nothing on the hx35, but i am hoping for the best. The manifold is waiting on that.

Wiring wise i'll look most of that tommarow and mount the battery and fuse box behind the fender.

I have to run 1 wire for the dizzy, and wire up the boost solenoid.(make sure i did not miss anything.)
pull all the amps out and rewire the stereo. No pre-amps, amps, x-overs, 6 speakers leaving 4 .. ect.

Tdurr
03-27-2010, 10:59 PM
^^ metered, no. im pretty sure my amp doesnt give the L5 enough juice. hell i havent even finished the box on the bottom lol.

89T
03-28-2010, 06:47 AM
Metered, no. This was no bass qween by any means. I was After sound quality and volume. The 6's and 8's that i mentioned are in the rear deck for mid-range/mid-bass with another pair of 6's in the front doors.

And an up date as to wth i am doing. I will not build a nother manifold till I get a turbo that will meet my goals or i decide it's good enough. So yesterday i made a wedge that fits the in between top mount manifold and the 60-1(the holeset is way too big). It looks like it may seal up fine. I don't know if i Should just cut the flange off and weld it in there, and weld the flange back on?

the wiring is pretty close, The only real suck of it was running a map sensor wire from the passenger side fender into the car, and back out to the manifold. I guess i could have just wired it directly to the ecu.
I want this car done already.:)

AccordEpicenter
03-28-2010, 08:26 AM
Yeah i sold my setup a while back, and I still have the 135 amp rewound alternator but I want to go back to stock. When driving, the lights never really dimmed with this alt, even though my amp was drawing a solid 80+ amps at times (would pop 75 amp fuses like zits) It put out alot of power. Problems is, it doesnt put out alot of power at idle, but at around 1800rpm you had lots of power. I think I might go back to a stock alternator because I really dont need 135 amps worth of alternator anymore, and the added power at Idle might be nice with the small ass battery. Im working on finishing up some of the wiring for my car today...

guaynabo89
03-31-2010, 05:34 AM
Maybe get the Legend alt. I'm still running one. I think its like 90 amps??

I never got metered on my system, but with 2 12's and 2 10's inch solobarics I used to be able to stop peoples breathing. Had to get my front window redone too. The 12's went to my wifes car and the 10's are waiting to make it back into the hatch one day.

89T
04-24-2010, 07:11 AM
I got to do some work on the car yesterday. Mainly,I did the intercooler mock up and started fitting the battery under the right fender.
I mounted a tranny cooler for the water/air intercooler also.

I decided to modify the top mount to accept the stage 3 turbine housing also.

Sorry i was buzzed last night.
I knew they would fit, but what i really wanted to do was slide the intercooler under there too.
The bumper cover fit's over the pipes nice. You cant even tell that they are there with the bumper cover on.

why would you not put the battery there?

I removed everything that was attached to the stock manifold including the black box. I then ran new wires to the map sensor from the firewall area to the gm 3bar map sensor that is mounted under the manifold. you still need the iat, map, throttle position and the idle air control valve.. I think i am missing something though.

As you can see in the pic there are 2 spots i brazed together.
The spot in the middle of the car came out pretty good except I didn't Polish it enough. On the drivers side I had to braze it on the bend.

Let me explain. That particular bend was a U bend, and you know U bends are not perfectly round .

the brazing actually works very well, not the prettiest thing till you sand it smooth and Polish it. I purposely tried to break it and it held up fine.
I picked the stuff up at harbor freight and spent about $20 for the rods and polishing kit. Was it worth it. I think so.

Because in a wreck you either have a 60 Lb projectile  or a damaged battery. Youd have to hit somethin pretty hard to hit it where you have it mounted, and i assume how you have it mounted is pretty solid. I think if you smacked it hard enough to damage the battery the battery would be your last worry anyway.

On those pipes, just be sure you won't have leaks.

Hey Roger, The bumper cover fits nicely over the fusebox. It's tight though. There is a spot you have to adjust with a hammer but its not much. Iam glad you like it.

tomarrow I'll see if i can get some pics with out the battery in there.

the adjustment (lol) is just to the right of the gold bolt.

Down pipe...

3" of course, but i am debating on regular aluminized or full aluminum. I have extra 3" pipe from the intercooler kit so all i would need is a 02 bung and a aluminum v-band kit.

OK bitches she runs, and revs freely!
Got only 1 code, code 8 tdc sensor.
I'll check the dizzy wiring later or tomorrow. I still need to wire the boost solenoid and weld in the BOV. I used a d series dizzy and it was close as fuck to be easy to mod, but it was not close enough. i ended up having to drill new holes in the cam key and the dizzy shaft. the reason being, i would only have to wallow out the stock hole about a 1/8 of an inch. that's too much play on the pin.

I was looking forward to D-series showdown and IFO-pueblo this year, but I have no cash for tuning. next year i guess.

wow, I modded a po6 / 92 civic dizzy today in hopes of getting the old girl running and got a cel the car would barely run, and at that point my laptop was in the house.
I threw on the old one and swapped the cam key 180 degrees as well as the plug wires, and still come up with the code 8. I guess the next step will be pull the engine harness and check all wiring.

The shit of it is it doesn't throw a code while it is idling. the code comes after it is revved.

any ideas guy's?

pin out checked by AccordEpicenter Thanks Jason
http://img684.imageshack.us/img684/2842/17872520.png

d1--->a17 I forgot to add this in the picture.
Note: the original oxygen wires are used for the distributer wiring. You must tie a21/a22 together and run a single wire to the yellow/green at the distributer.
distributer....................stock harness

blue/yellow...................(o2 wire) blue
blue/green....................(o2wire) Grey
yellow/green..................run to the ecu
match the rest up.

Also I am running a Aem wideband o2 hence only 1 o2 wire.

Now down to where "I" made a mistake. No excuses.

B15 ckpp and b16 ckpm were wired back wards. Not in the pin out but physically. The interesting part was the ecu threw a code 8 in turn a tdc code. That threw me for a loop, I never bothered checking those ckp/ckm connections.

The car has since fired up , idled smooth, rev-ed freely with out codes....On a base map.

only thing I can suggest is to basically run the sensor wires for each sensor straight from the plug at the dizzy to the ecu and just let the wires rest over the motor to test.

Deep down this was something that I knew I had to do, but I was being lazy. I ended up tracing all the wires from plug to plug all the way to the ecu.

thanks for the help, Everyone.

Thats a serious snail, Jerry. For my oil pan fitting, i drilled a hole, got a small galvanized steel adapter that both sides are threaded, but one size fits those cheap brass barbed fittings, and grinded all the galvanizing off, and welded it to the oil pan on the outside covering the hole I drilled. The steel fitting is not very big, maybe an inch or so long. I cleaned up the welds and rattle canned it. Strong, cheap, and no leaks.

Sounds good, I ordered a 10an weld bung and a 10an oil return kit.
The original fitting that i had was slightly back feeding. It was not that bad but with this new turbo I am not taking any chances.

The new bung will be welded to a short piece of pipe which i cut at a decent angle to over come the backward angle of the oil pan.

All the way to 8500 rpm.

No holset, but I still have it and it's for sale.

Now in, 89turbo'ed going green! Yes! you herd it right here.... The first E85 turbo accord!

street vids coming soon to a youtube near you!

Could you blame him? @$2.99 a gal. for race fuel. I think not!

MessyHonda
06-11-2011, 11:20 PM
dont you use more fuel when you go e85?

89T
06-12-2011, 06:56 AM
They say you need 30-32% more fuel in the tune. so far I have only added 5% to the tune and it hovers around stoich.
Messy you can compare it to pump gas, but when you realize the E85 = 110 octane then you should be comparing it to race fuel at $7-$8 a gallon.

I think we all know that I am not doing this for fuel mileage.

gfrg88
06-12-2011, 07:52 AM
In for more info on E85 conversion.. Been running through my mind from the first day I started buying my turbo parts..

yeah my friend that tuned my car has a lexus is 300t with 400whp and he said that he was in the process of converting to E85. said that with a good tune he would be able to make 100-140 more hp. Jerry you are right about race fuel i can get 100 oct localy but it cost alot more than e85

gfrg88
06-12-2011, 01:50 PM

Tdurr
06-12-2011, 03:06 PM
Switching to e85 isn't hard. Just gotta replace some fuel lines, get bigger injectors andddd tune it lol.
And I'm guessing u have a e85 pump close to ur house?

From what i read, aluminum lines and papper filters are a no no...

So to add to tims post, a high flow fuel pump (or 2) minimum 800-1000cc injectors.

yup, we have pumps all over the place.

I'll ask my friend who runs e85 if he is on his stock lines. I heard the stock lines will gum up or something.

I have friends whom have been running E85 for years, on stock lines. 4-600hp cars.
90% of what you read is myth.

I'll ask my friend who runs e85 if he is on his stock lines. I heard the stock lines will gum up or something.

Not steel lines. I'll have to find the thread. later.. or... go to honda-tech search e85 by user name kelly.

Gio him and Servion are local to us. IF you need anything tuned hit up Adam @ Revolutions proformance 719-635-6200 Servion is the resident tuner.

rolling starts are not so much of a problem with the lsd. On the part that I was at a stop, it burned the tires. I rolled out of the throttle alittle bit then back in.
