I just picked up an 87 Accord LXI the other day and already am becoming addicted to it! I'm new to this site and have already found some great info. (like where the heck the tranny dipstick is!!! haha) I got it with those rims...it does need better tires, a radio (cause it still has the in-op stock tape deck), a paint job(its original), and some front end work (creeks and clunks, but bot too bad), plus the tranny is tempermental. But it was cheap and hopefully will run and run....

thats the auto dipstick, manual trans dipstick is different I think.
And the engine oil dipstick is on the right side by all the belts.

Thanks for all the replies, sure is friendly here! I will try to use the search before I start asking stupid questions.....I just noticed the H badge is upside down on the hood! hahahaha. I live in the San Fernando Valley (LA county). As far as mods.....well, I know as soon as I start I won't stop. But 1st things are: Tires (those are worn mis-matched 205/40 16's) may upgrade to 215 50's?? Must paint it black! And a stereo, cause I got none! Down the road, maybe a cold air intake, exhaust, and I'm sure the list will go on and on.... As far as a 5speed swap, clutches just drive me insane, would rather amp up the auto. Lower it a bit....maybe.

Welcome to the board. Looks like you got a pretty good condition accord there. Hope you enjoy the board, and the car.

BTW, 215/50/16 tires would be way too tall. 205/45/16 is the proper size for a 205, so for a 215 a 40 series sidewall would probably work better.

Prob go w/215 45's then. I know I'll get caught browsing this board today at work! We will see how she drives in the rain today, hope the moonroof don't leak....Oh, checking the tranny fluid wasn't that bad, it was hot though!

yeah i would replace the tires. and yeah 215 45 16s is a good pick they might rub a bit but i dont think so.

For some reason I like those wheels on that car. All it needs is a little drop and a lip then you will be good to go. Good luck with the ride.

Yup, new tires and now I see it would look better with a slight drop, just not slammed. I like the way yours looks Legend Master, just the right height. Damn, this car is addicting!!!
