warning to image station users, image station is deleting albums if you happen to link a picture to them. in other words if you have a picture on a website anywhere kiss your image station albums goodbye. they also suspended my account due to objectinable content, they wouldn't tell me what the content was,but I finally found out their computer says this picture is offensive. I'll find it again in a minute. it was my grandmother my niece my sister and my nephew. what in the world their computer found offensive about that I don't have a clue.

but what I can't understand is how they claim there is offensive material on the site, yet they won't tell me what it is? I've gone through every album I have but nothing so far. they say they will look again in 24 hours and if it's not gone they will delete all my pictures. but they won't tell me what material it is!!! I notice all my family pictures are gone, basically anything that has a face has been deleted. this is bull shit. :thumbdn:

yea they sent me a nasty email,I'll post it tomorrow. basically I had to delete all my pictures of women in bikinis, not showing anything mind you, just what you would see on a beach, image station says thats obscene. it's legal to wear in public but not maintain a picture of. also if you have any pics of your buds flipping you off, that'll get your account deleted. basically anything that could be construed as obscene in any possible way whatsoever.also anything that could be construed as racist, sexist, deragatory to men or women, could be considered an off color joke,or if it happens to offend the person digging through your personal unpublished private albums. or if anything looks like it could have been taken by a proffesional phototograper in any way whatsoever. doesn't matter if it was or not,it'll get your account deleted. who the hell are these people the third reich all over again? this is the same company that publishes gansta rap that says fuck at least 30 times a song. what a bunch of hypocrites. they also said I had to delete all my pictures of my 13 year old niece, there is nothing whatsoever in anyway obscene about those pictures, they are just ordinary glamour shots taken by my sister. I would show anyone in a church anywhere those pictures and never worry about offending anyone.

ok I thought I would host the pictures they say are inapproiate, off of them of course. now tell me what could anyone possibly find in these pictures? I sure can't think of anything. what really incences me is the fact they say my nieces pictures are offensive. these are ordinary everyday family pictures. she is a very intelligent very pretty young lady and she is going to be a heartbreaker one day. what is wrong with these pictures? NOTHING!!!!

I'll tell you, before you know it in this country you'll not be able to publish anything or say anything without it being censored in some way.
lol.. no one is "censoring" you.. a company is just telling you what you can and cannot put on their computers.

i'm sure they're so used to dealing with deleting kiddy porn off of their machines that anything that in anyway resembles it is banned. pix of 13 year old girls in cheerleader outfits and young boys in swimsuits are definitely 'borderline'... it's obvious how paranoid they are, considering they think pix of random cannisters constitute drug paraphernalia lol

as for the other pics, you probably don't hold the copyright for them.

i always use imageshack.us and never have had problems

i always use imageshack.us and never have had problems :thumbup:border line nothing,I use the site in some of my non public albums to share pictures with my mom and other relatives. what in the world is wrong with family pictures being hosted on a photo site? whatever idiot went through my site was smoking something. if you can't post pictures of your relatives on a photo site what is the use of the site? I can't possibly see how someone could say those pictures were inappropriate, there is nothing in them that is. they are just cute kids. thats like throwing the producers of america's funniest videos in jail because someone doesn't like their show. this reminds me of the couple a few years ago that were thrown in jail for having developed pictures at wal mart of their baby taking a bath. wal mart actually called the cops to them. they were ordinary everyday baby pictures the kind every parent owns of their kids. I remember they did settle out of court with wally world but were thrown in jail also.

Yeah, it's still a private organization that can do whatever they want though. Vote against their decision by going somewhere else and let that be the end of it.

cmon dude, you're not in jail right now.. you had your files deleted. Files you saved on someone elses computer. Files they were hosting on the web for you, for free i'm guessing. I understand you're upset but it's not a federal case or anything... it's a lot closer to getting a thread locked than being thrown in jail. if you're really that upset, just use another one of the millions of photo hosts out there. :)

and i was just guessing as to why they might have deleted them. it seems like the most logical explaination. that being said, they're being incredibly uptight considering you can probably find worse on myspace.com any day of the week lol. I'm guessing somehow one of your images came to their attention and they just removed all of the images that fell under certain guidelines.

btw, the images appear to still be hosted on imagestation computers.. did you reupload them?

If anyone has a suggestion on a photosite that lets you put your images in seperate photo albums like image station let me know. It's just going to take me forever to download all those images and reupload them somewhere else. besides most of my how to's and technical threads are hosted from there. now I have to go back through and redo everyone of my threads. :gun:

You can do that in Photobucket. I have an account with them, but I mostly use Imageshack. With imageshack, you can upload photos with their original size(ex. 2272x17040). With photobucket, any picture bigger than 800x600 is automatically resized to 800x600. Photobucket does have quicker uploads though.

well I'm trying snapfish and photopeg. the problem with photobucket is you can't create a public room with all the photo albums available. thats how i have my car pictures set up on imagestation, one link off the home page and people can browse the car photos organized into different albums by projects.
