any ideas on a minor performance boost from a 98 civic? I just had to drive this thing all the way to adel georgia, and this car has no balls whatsoever. what are these in the lx a 1.6 or something? this will be my wifes car but this is rediculous. it's like driving a geo or something. I just changed the radiator for example and it's smaller them most ac condensors. I did take a picture of the motor though http://ec2.images-amazon.com/images/P/B00064AKOG.01-A2EPF3R1RTGUI9._AA250_SCLZZZZZZZ_V56844393_.jpg
maby a nice mellow sounding exaust or something? this is why I kept my accord,I only drive this thing when needed. I remember one of my 81 civics with the factory stock motor would perform better then this thing.

uh you could just do the norm I/H/E and be done with it

but it IS a civic so you have numerous options

hahahahaha
anyway, lx, so no vtec there. but i/h/e should get you some noticeable gains. if it's auto, do a 5-speed swap. and like messy said, mini-me it will give you vtec and an added power boost up top. but all depends on if you're looking for power lower or higher on the powerband. you can probably get a delta cam that should give you noticable gains as well for pretty cheap.

D16 turbo kit. Easy to install and tune on a civic, cheap too!

I'll be glad when I get my car done,at least it's got some "nuts" lol

You do not do a D16Z6 head swap. Do a D16Y8 head swap or engien swap. You can get a B16 swap with an auto trans for like $1200 anywhere or get a B20 engine swap out of CRV and do a b16 head swap on it. Wither would make better power. Forget the turbo kit unless you do it after a B-series swap. You will spend $1700 + for a good kit and you will have to spend even more money making you engine handle more than 8 psi. B or K series all the way!!
