Led door lights

[BITESIZE]

So, I will be working on these now! I'm going to use a small circuit board and cut them to fit inside these housings. :welcome:


I want to put about 8 5mm leds or 4 10mm leds in each of these housings. The circuit board will be 1 1/4 x 1 3/4 inches.

Too bad this housing is broken. I pulled it out of my box o shit in the garage that I've had for years.

I will only need to use one of those plugs on each set. Good thing is the circuit board will plug into those two prongs with a female end!

This is what i will be using for my led tail lights...

If you guys want your tail lights like these, plan on paying around $300 a set. These will be pricey if I use 250 white led's and 6 circuit boards.


There will be 40 led's on each board depending on whether i use the 5mm or 10mm, i will use probably 6 boards of these for my rear hatchback tail lights. These fuckers are going to be bright as hell!

I think I will use the 10mm on the outside edges and the 5mm in the middle to give it a box look, since our tail lights are boxy.

For all the previous haters, go suck a big fatty!

These boards are so awesome and cut so much time down on soldering.

I put the 3 led's i made inside of the door light housing. Lights up a whole dark room rather well!
Now if I could only get them centered directly in the middle of the housing.

Hey on those taillights, I read somewhere that you want to use red LEDs. If you use the white ones, the light is emitting every color in the spectrum. Then the red lens is filtering out every color except red, which means that only a small percentage of the light emitted is seen. Making it appear not as bright.

If you use red LEDs, 100% of the light emitted is red. And while the lens isn't the exact match, it will still be filtering less light. This will make it appear brighter.

That's just what I've heard. You are the LED master, so I'm curious as to what you've actually found through all your trials in building LED lighting. Does this seem to be true for you?

I'll be using these for my many custom projects. I still make them from scratch! I can get these in sizes from 3, 6, 9, 12, & 15 led circuit boards. So the possibilities are great! The resisters can also be soldered to the rear of the circuit board so you only see the led's. There are the two holes which can be used to mount them with tiny screws!
This board is slightly larger than an American Quarter (25 cents)
