I was bored so I polished my old rims and put them on one side of the car to see how it would look since I lowered it. I like the stance it has with these wheels, but I like the design of my new ones more. The wheels stick it out past the body with the old ones on, and it gives it a more aggressive stance.

My question is, which do you prefer? Old or New?

Notice how much lower it is with the 15's on. The 15's are on the drivers side, and the 17's on the passenger.

that looks hot. you should just leave those rims instead. and on a side note, saw a 3g with that same kit on it a couple days ago. but it was white.

Ok, so one for the 15's. The Xenon kit seems to be the most popular kit for this car. I don't think i've ever seen a different 3g in real life with a kit on it, besides mine. But I've had the privelage or seeing the Kaminari kit in real life (it was on my car), and I like that kit the same, maybe even more, than the Xenon kit, but it's fiberglass so the front gets beaten up.

I finally fixed my unaligned headlighs and grille.

i like the 15" ones on the car better.. though off the car the new rims looks sweet, but the 15" seem to match well and look awesome with the drop

My vote is for the 15's, that's what I run. What's the tire size?

run the 17s but you need a drop badly

15's look better IMO.

And if you have trouble getting a jack under the car because it's too low, stack a couple 2X4's in front of each front wheel, drive up on the boards to raise the car up some, then you can get a jack under it. I almost have to do that on my 2000 Ram, not cause I cant get the jack under the crossmember, but because the air dam sets so low there is no room to pump the jack handle to get the truck to raise lol.

205/50/R15. The wheels are 15x7.5 with a 34 offset, so they stick out somewhat, but not like those lowriders with daytons. It sticks out just enough to be noticed. Looks kinda cool.

It is dropped (on H&R's and Tokico's). Some of those pictures up their are old. The picture that Frantik posted is old; its lowered now. It looks like this.

I see how that could work, but my main problem is the kit, because thats the lowest part on the car (besides the oil pan), and in order to get a jack under it, it'd have to be real low. I still have quite a bit of clearance now, but If it was lowered something like 2.25 inches, I'd have trouble just getting into my driveway, let alone the jack. I've gained a lot of scratches on the bottom part of the front of my kit after lowering it, and thats with me trying to drive careful. I'm glad that the bottom is tapered in, so its not that noticeable.

I put the 17's back on for now because I couldn't decide, but I'm going to try the 15's tomorrow.

i like both sets. the dark rims i really like b/c it gives your car a "new touch" while still looking like a classic. but the chrome rims are the ones you use to get laid.lol

i prefer the 17s because they look better IMO, and it would be a shame to use your old wheels after you just bought some new ones.

What happened to the rear drivers door?

I dunno...I think either set of wheels would look good if you lowered you car more.

True, but then again I could see the 17's and use that money for something else. But I like them too much right now to sell them.

About the door. As you can see in the following pic, I park in front of my house, but their is a driveway right across the road from where I park. Long story short, the person who lives in that house slid into my car (It was snowy/icy) about 4 years ago, and offered to pay, but we would have to get an estimate. My dad didn't (I wasn't old enough to drive yet).

Fast Forward to this past summer. I wake up one morning and look for my keys, and I cant find them. My dad had taken my car and was trying to fix the dent by pushing it out from the inside of the door. That's what you see in the pictures. ( A poorly pushed out dent).

I'm anal about the car, and thats the only thing that I genuinely hate about it, but I will get it fixed whenever I get it repainted.

i've seen two or three 3g's with a kit on it. and now that i look at your car a little better and the kit, i think it might've been the kaminari kit on the other car. but anywy, maybe it's because i live in socal that i see them. (unless you do too, then my point is moot.)

well i like how the 15 inch rims make it look old school but the new rims make it look sick.... yeah looks like the drop did help a bit but lower you are asking for camber problems....1.5 is the max il drop it unless i can find some konis for cheap.

Well really its not complicated. "My neigbor slid into it one morning". I just felt like explaining the whole story in detail.

Nope, live in Northern Virginia. The country part of Northern VA. Needless to say, there aren't very many modded CARS, but there's hella trucks out here. Where I live, cars rust, so there's not to many old cars on the road, and especially modified old imports.

I'm really surprised that most of you have chosen the 15's. Maybe its the fact that you guys havn't seen it in real life, but I think the 17's look better on the car than the 15's. I guess there is a difference between real life and photo's.

About aligning the headlights and grille, there's a couple of things you can do. You can adjust the hood hinge by loosening the two 10mm bolts and pulling the hinge itself up, then re-tightening the bolts when you are satisfied.

The other way would be to adjust the hood stopper (little black knob on the engine bay side of the fender, near the pop-ups. Counter-clockwise raise the hood, which will in-turn raise the height of the grille. Clock-wise lowers the hood and in-turn the grille. You could also put spacers between the nuts holding the grille onto the hood if your grille sits too high.

I did a combination of all of them. I raised the passenger side hood stopper a little bit, and I raised the right side 10mm bolt on the hinge a little bit. I also removed a spacer (shouldnt have been there in the 1st place) in between one of the nuts holding the grille to the hood.

If I confused you, I'm sorry because its hard to describe w/o pics. I will take pics tomorrow of what I did.

Thanks Toneloc5145, that would be cool of you. so you didn't adjust the headlight housings? Just the hood. hmmm.
You should go with the 15's, and the raised white lettering on the tire too! I think it would look cool, kinda keepin it old school, but still fresh at the same time.

i like both sets of wheels. those polished ones look old school. i have a few sets of wheels for my accord. i like to alternate them sometimes. i had my 17's on for a while but i've gone back to my 13's for now. you car looks realy nice though with either set of wheels.

I took pictures of how to fix your grill/eyebrow alignment.

This is pointing to the two nuts that you need to loosen in order to raise or lower the hinge, thus raising or lowering the height of the grille and hood. If one side is straigt, and the other is not, then you could only loosen and correct the side that is not straight.
http://img329.imageshack.us/img329/3609/dscn1451gk6.jpg

http://img356.imageshack.us/img356/1730/dscn1452xf1.jpg

These are the "Hood Stoppers" that you turn Clockwise to lower the height of the hood, or Counter-Clockwise to raise the height.

http://img147.imageshack.us/img147/4577/dscn1455ak8.jpg

http://img329.imageshack.us/img329/7373/dscn1458zd1.jpg

And if your grille is too high, you can put spacers in between the nuts circled (which connect the grille to the hood) and the hood itself.

So I dunno what to recommend.

I can't decide. They both look good. Then again, I have 3 sets for my car so I have troble deciding on what wheels to run.
