i blew a gearbox finally...

yeah well driving around town pulled out off an intersection wound off 1st gear chucked it into 2nd and bang... gearbox made a very funny noise. it still drove on one axle but yeah i blew the diff to bits. and 3 holes in the gearbox casing.

so i thought damnit, i had a spare so me and a few mates did a swap and put my spare box on. little did we know the spare box was off a crashed car and the impack made the half shaft somehow lock the diff. the car handled like absolute shit. i had no idea why it wouldnt corner very well until i blew the diff again. This time the car didnt drive afterwards and i had to be towed.

I have been having some fat bad luck.... not just i dont have a car but i blew two rare as fuck b20a gearboxes.

the plan for the 1st box is to get someone to alloy weld the holes up and ill install a new diff. so my b2k gearbox may be back in my car with a lsd another day.

nah i did use his and his was the one frm the crashed car. so im glad i did otherwise i wooda sent it to him and it wooda blew up on him and we dnt want that. Im trying to locate 2 boxes now shdnt be 2 hard....

i dont know a lot about the gear boxes on the B series. but the lower end prelude B20 doesnt fit up to the one you have? hope you'll find something to fix this. good luck.

My B20A gearbox looks totally different. It doesn't have that end cap on it. The casing is just one piece.

yes i have good friends

tranny is diffrent cause this is a b2k and yours is an f2k.. my box is from a b18a engine vigor the 2nd box i blew up was a f2k sdo i have 2 blown ones. i also noted the spline on the b2k box is the same as the a20a / civic ZC engine and the clutches are the same. the f2k box has a larger input spline the same as a 3g b20a5 ludes clutch. the new box im looking for for my car is a f2k because my digidash speedo reading became correct after i installed it

I have the B2k5 and the F2K5 and the look the same but they dont look like yours mine look like carotman trany.
