Decided to try experimenting mounting a PSP dock in the 3g for obvious reasons... video :) I came across a pair of MadCats PSP docks that work with my X2 battery and hard drive (VERY hard to find in a dock) for less than 20 bucks for the pair. One for the home and one for the car I thought. It's still a work in progress, but here's the initial work.

Dock, ready for a more permanent mount. The audio (and soon, power) cable run behind the clock. The clock itself will be replaced with a piece of cut plastic that'll cover the area neatly.

There's the PSP seated in the dock. It's angled back slightly but that doesn't affect viewing whatsoever. You can barely see The Da Vinci Code playing through the flash and fingerprints (only downside to a PSP... fingerprints show up like nothing else!)

PSP lighter adapter, disassembled, ready for reassembly as a power supply to the dock. I'll use the clock's ignition 12 and ground as a source.

Non car related PSP pic. It shows exactly why 99% of the docks won't work with the X2 and HDD. The added battery life and 4gb drive (12gb soon?) are worth it.
I'll put up more pictures as I progress. These were just spur of the moment, middle of the night pics, as my Q&D's usually are.
Stay tuned!
