so i decided to order a 5g accord cai after seeing monkeys and thought it would be easier to install and with less bends...I didn't have to cut the intake at all or take the horn out we made the hole in the fender bigger and moved the battery tray like an inch to the drivers side and drilled new holes to screw it onto the bracket then we mounted the tie down on the other side.

other stuff that i will be putting on in a couple of days. I also put on a 1stgen integra lip and cut the ends to make it fit the 86-87 bumper it came out good but i forgot to take pictures. When we took my car for a little spin after the intake my clutch started slipping up it must be that extra horsepower...lol so i'll be replacing that too im thinkin an exedy one will do just fine.

87lxiaccord

i tried to get the bypass filter to fit but there wasn't enough room i can always put it on if i cut the first pipe but i think i'll just keep the short ram in the trunk and switch it out when it starts raining.

damn, that is the cold air intake i got. I haven't installed it yet because i need to drill 3 wholes for the vacuum lines.

How much bigger did you have to cut the opening in the fender for the pipe to slide through?

Then that intake and header should make a nice difference.

yeah i was thinking the same thing along with the coil and some new wires. I want to start auto crossing so right now i have my eye on the ST sway bars and maybe my friends dad will be able to mod a set of 4g strut bars then in the future an se-i rear brake setup with 11 inch rotors up front and some 15" rims

nice stuff man...the intake looks good....to bad i already bought my teg one. dont weld the header...from wut i heard you can use a oil drain plug to plug em up. plus you are messing with a 240 dollar header...if you part it out you will get more money.. i also got the same header..but i want to use the DC primaries and the pacesetter downpipe. hope it works for me. how much did you get the delta for and wut grind did you get? i have an extra cam shaft but im just lazy...to send it in...now...it looks hot...i wanted a colt tho.

i know it sounds risky to try an weld but i won't be cutting then welding it back together im just gonna weld a plate over the extra egr tube hole and o2 sensor hole. Also my friends dad is very experienced in welding his work is great. The cam is a 272 and it was around $85 but i will send my core in and get $30 bucks back

shepherd79
12-10-2006, 07:18 AM
people, 86-87 use one O2 sensor. 88-89 have two of them.

looks good. it would be worthless for carb or 88-89 efi if you try to sell it.

thanks man i hope so I installed my coil yesterday the wiring was pretty fun to do. Today i plan on getting my tokico's in and i'll take some pics

Shephard is correct :werd: but if i did try to sell it to someone with an 86-87 the corrections would already be made so it would be more covinient to buy a used one than having to find someone that will weld a new one for you too bad most people on here have 88-89's but i don't think i'll be selling this baby for awhile anyways

ghettogeddy

looks like your basic compressor but it was 2 hooks on each one

snoopyloopy
12-11-2006, 04:57 PM
oh, ahh...i see it there in the pix. i got one of those off ebay and no matter what i did, it would not fit the stock springs. so went down to autozone, w/ their loan-a-tool service, and their's wouldn't work. went to napa, and it was the same as autozone. so i ended up having to buy a $50 kit that's basically two big screws w/ hooks that go around the coils attached to them. so i must ask: did that compressor work on the stock springs too?

ghettogeddy
12-11-2006, 05:00 PM
they worked on mine i used the auto zone ones where were u trinng t o put them

snoopyloopy
12-11-2006, 05:02 PM
everywhere, in all kinds of configurations. i couldn't get the whole thing through the spring in a manner that allowed me to actually use it. but whatever, the one i got from pepboys is a better design anyway. although it could be somewhat of a pain to use. i'll probably just hawk the ebay one back where i got it.

ghettogeddy
12-11-2006, 05:17 PM
ya sometimes u have to hammer them on i like the ones pico has there a little easyer to use

87lxiaccord
12-11-2006, 06:09 PM
i don't know where the one i used this time is from because i got it from my uncle but after the first spring we stopped using the compressor since it's such a low drop there isn't any pressure on the top of the shock at all but when we did my stock springs i went to autozone and used theirs it worked but you had to put the hooks on with the wheel still on and the car jacked up that way it would stretch the spring just enough to fit the hook in and then we spun the hook all the way to the top

yeah ^^ so i drove on the highway with the new shocks and it made a huge difference my car used to bounce around on every dip we hit now she just glides right over them maybe tomorrow i put the header on...

yeah it deffinetly likes to pull harder through second. it feels like i may have lost a little more bottom end but it may just be the intake it also seems like it gets up to high rpm quick now

looks real nice. and the cam will probably lend a little bit to the loss of the down low torque drop.

87lxiaccord
01-04-2007, 08:32 PM
I''ve got a problem with my delta 272 we put it in and adjusted the valve to guide clearances to specs like .006 intake and .010 for exhaust and when we got done putting it back together the car would idle at around 750 rpms which is good but would idle real shitty like the timing was off and puttering like an old boat motor. We took everything back apart to retrace our steps and compare the two cams to see if delta sent the right one. They looked pretty similar so we gave the delta one more try we set it to tdc and used the marks on the back of the cam gear to asure the timing was correct then we started it back up and it ran the same. At this point i was pretty pissed so i took everything apart again and put the stock cam back in after doing the exact same steps as we did for the delta cam the car runs perfect except the timing needs to be adjusted the slightest bit which i will be doing tomorrow with a timing light. So I wanted to know what you guys think before i call delta and ask if they sent me the wrong cam...
