Its been a long time since ive posted but i still love my 3 gee. I currently have a 1993 240sx red and i did a 5 speed swap on it. i was looking for another car to love so i bought it from a friend. I also had to replace a fuel injector. i paid $1300 for it. LESS than i paid for my 89 3rd gen(1500).

This 240 is freakin CLEAN. I could get 3K easily out of it. I like the car a lot, and i would love to keep it, but i keep thinking about the times with the 3 gee. And i remember the spare motor i have and delta 282 cam, weber, modded b&m short shifter and integra tranny. with the money i could get out of the 240, i could easly build up my 3gee and have one ofthe coolest around im thinkin sidedrafts-forged pistons and rods- 4-1 header-balanced bottom end-lightweight flywheel oh ya and compression^ way up.

i know the martket for 240s is high right now. what do yall think??

if you sell a 240 for a 3g...youre insane.

RWD car with assloads of potential vs. FWD car with nowhere close to as much potential.

hmm.

both would be better...a FWD car and a RWD car....best of both world unless you want to get a AWD car.

Dude you're asking an internet forum what you should keep out of two completely different cars.

In the end you'll just do what you want anyway. The cars have different characters and styles to them. What's more important to you?

A lot of people are saying keep the 240, but they want a powerful RWD car. I prefer a small FWD Honda so I personally would keep the 3G. But these are all just opinions.

and what examples have you had? Some 87 sentra pos?

My mother had a 94 se-r with 150k on it....she gave it to me when she got a different car, and i hammered the piss outta that thing for two weeks straight and it never even flinched.

Ever think maybe you got a lemon of a car? My buddies civic was a piece of crap..does that mean every civic is junk?

Good choice  ,keep them both and enjoy them. Thats what I did few years back when I bought a newer car, didn't sell the Accord.

Sell both the 3g and 240 and get something better. If not sell the 3g, our aftermaket sucks and it will cost a small fortune to get 3g to run any decent numbers.

but if you ad a turbo you can make it run faster than any B18 with VTACK

Alright, let's be realistic here. Having owned both a 3g (for four years) and 240s for a couple of years, the 240 has infinitely higher potential over a 3g. Yes, I miss my 3g because it was comfortable (even lowered) and got great gas mileage, but it can't hold a candle to the 240's 'fun-to-drive' quotient. And, honestly, the ginormous aftermarket for these cars makes modding easier and ultimately cheaper since parts don't have to be custom-fabricated (single cam turbo kits, notwithstanding haha).

Yeah, everyone is going to scream "but old-sk00l is cool y0" and "a hooked up , fast 3g is way more unique!" Sure, it's unique, but being unique also costs a crapton of money and, last I checked, only a handful of members here have the means to take their 3geez above and beyond. Sure, the 240 has been done over and over and there's really no being original at all with an s13, but pretty much every avenue has been covered, all aspects analyzed, and it's easy to put together a ridiculously fun car to drive. There are tried and true recipes for success here.

As for nissan reliability, the ka is essentially bombproof. Like any 15 year old car, they aren't without their trouble areas, and any 15 year old car that has either been abused or neglected will need some money thrown at it to make it right. One known problem area is in electrical--namely ground wires that need to be replaced, or other little gremlins. Also, the timing chain can be a pain in the butt, but it's not that hard to replace, just time-consuming. But again, given the popularity of these cars, problem areas (and subsequent fixes) are very well documented on most 240- or nissan-based forum.

I think your solution of keeping both cars is probably the best. A coilovered 240 is sometimes a pain to daily drive considering almost everyone's roads aren't racetrack smooth. Anyhow, that's my .02.

Yeah, it is. And I still have a soft spot in my heart for 3g accords. But let's not make them something they're not, and let's get away from blind faith and allegiance.

Dude this site wouldn't exist without blind faith and allegiance!

Anyway, like I said I just prefer small FWDs. It's scientifically proven that most people's opinions are based around faith and not reason, and that is why logic rarely sways even the most unreasonable opinions. That's why I don't ever post "What should I do" threads. I already know what I want and in the end I'm going to do that anyway.

240s are really cool but they are starting to get too popular...similar to the likes of the civics. I say play with both; make the Accord a nice daily and use the 240 for most of the fun.

lol yeah im sure a turbo 3g could beat a stock car with a b18 but a modded b18 i seriously doubted it. Thats not to say its impossible but by then your wasting shitloads of money on the 3g. And eventually "old school" will lose its luster especially when youve spent a huge amount on it. The 3g is a nice overall car but if unless your serious and want to go turbo youll be speending a ton of money to just have a slightly better performing 3g. Sad but true.

yeah the b18s are popular with the ricer/tuner ppl so they have more aftermarket. a built one should put out decent numbers just on NA....
