My '89 Aerodeck from Romania - girl like it

This is my 3rd Honda Aerodeck. I got this one because it has the A/C. The one I owned had ALB and electric moonroof, but no A/C. This one has no ALB and no moonroof. But I do prefer the cool air :rolleyes:

It has quite a lot of modifications. The engine is stock, no mods done on it.
Exedy stage 1 clutch - that I want to remove because the shock on changing gears is to violent
Vented/drilled/grooved brake discs on the front
Ferodo Racing brake pads
17" Rims that I changed for the winter with the iron stock ones
Xenon front lamps
Borla inox Exhaust muffler with inox pipes from the front
NGK sparkplugs with silicone sparkplugs wires
HR adjustable suspension - not that rigid
Flame thrower kit (I had one also on the old Aerodeck)
Maat alarm with door locking

Music
Pioneer DEH P4800MP mp3 head-unit
8 JBL speakers (4 components)
subwoofer and amplifiers coming soon...

I will make a more detailed list of the modifications. A strut-bar is waiting to be mounted in my room:lol:

The photos are made with a regulare camera, but they are modified in Photoshop. I did not made the pictures. I will make some during the day.

The Aerodeck is real, just like in the pictures. Someone said something about having an old car. It's true, but a car with personality. My first car ever was an aerodeck, carburetor. During the time, I had a lot of other cars, including this CRX, the most beautiful around Bucharest. But unfortunatelly it had some paperwork problems.

The fact is that I finally got to have this nice Aerodeck, that I use everyday, and a BMW e30 325 that must go... I had also one BMW E36, but not even this could compare to my 3geez. I regret the CRX, but... the law is law.

If you could choose between the wing and crx with no wing, trust me... you would choose the wing. Because the car has been modified and the rear has been "inflated" with fiberglass... a lot of it. And the wing seems to give the car some wider aspect of the top area that had remained stock. Anyway, the wing is subject to discussion, is all about the taste in the end. Is not my CRX anymore... One thing is certain - I will never mount a wing on my Aerodeck.

One question - where can I get a pair of corner lights for the aerodeck? One is broken due to a small incident and there are no aerodecks here in the junkyards. Thank you.

Dude those look like the standard EF8 headlights w/ a slanted hood over them.

Kinda like TheGreatDane's car. I do like the car, wing and all. But my loyalties lie with the Aerodeck, it's just so clean...

That's right. The headlights were stock, but I had moved the signals into he headlights, since they were in the front bumper. The crx is history, the Aerodeck is the future:)

wont just any 3g lights fit the aerodeck? It should. But JDM type has two bulbs and works as indicater as well as marker so you will not use indicator bulb thats all. I personally like EU marker though.


HR adjustable suspension - not that rigid Is this suspension kit with H&R spring or something else? What shocks do they come with? I am curious cos I ve never heard of it.

Other pics. I will put back the 17" Borbet rims from he pictures, mount a strut-bar, carbon-look hood and tinted windows.

I now have a new sound system - Panasonic CQ 8403 HU with 4095 colours display, 8 JBL speakers (2 components with crossovers, 2 6x9 100 W rms each and 2 in the back, original spot), Sound Storm amplifier 2x200 W rms and a reflex box, Magnat with 2x12" woofers, 350 W rms. The cables are 4AWG Stinger. I'm waiting for e dvd player, either in the sun visor or roof mounted. We'll see...

I have changed the gear box and the clutch. It is now stock, like it should be. It workds like new now. Excepting the exhaust. I intend to change it with the original Bosal one.

It seems that you can mount them the way you want.
The way you put them is meant to optimize brake power instead of getting a better brake cooling. If you mount them the other way (classic mounting way), you optimize the cooling of the pads and discs instead of their brake power.

I read it a few days ago when my brother bought a set of slotted/drilled discs for his Civic. It was in the documentation.

The widebody was from Mattig Tuner (German Manufacturer) but all the pieces were mounted custom, because the side skirts, the back fenders and the rear bumper were all in one single piece. So it had some good work put into...

I am not going to do the same thing to the aerodeck, at least not now. I lije the rims, but I would like other with thinner spokes so that you can see the brakes. In the back, 17" rims touch the inner fender when I have at least one person in the back.

The REX had another engine (1.6 vtec 160 bhp) but in the papers it was 1.6 16V simple, of 130 bhp. And it was impossible to put the new one legally in the papers... Complicated laws and fucking paperwork that pissed me off... And, of course the roads, that are not exactly... craters-freee:(

I got new rims for my Aerodeck on 16", because the 17" ones were touching once we were more than 3 in the car.

These are RH rims with Toyo tires in the back and Vredestein in he front, 215 and 195. This is the model. Some pics later on.
