I just got my B20A5 Header from SuperSovietSolider yesterday. What should I use to get this one looking like new?

I wish I could lol but
im trying to keep it cost efective. This header is perfectly fine just a little rusty lol. Im wondering if anyone on here has tried to sand down a header and respray it with some kind of heat resistant coating.

I cannot find the thread, but someone on this board has cleaned up a rusty header using rust jelly.

Edit: Found this.

they dont look bad after checking the pics again....i say you to to your local hardware store pick up some heavy duty rust remover....and then just paint it with ceramic paint....its like 7 bucks at the auto parts store....its good for up to 2000F

sandblast it and get it coated with some high temp powder coating or ceramic coating if you want the best.

Yep have it coated by HPC Coatings. They are the best next to Jet Hot Coatings. Lifetime warranty and reduces underhood temps ALOT, plus the header will never rust again.

Do I have to send it in for them to coat it? You guys have an idea of how much it will cost? I might as well do it right since its not on my car yet

Too late for that now. I have them soking in some rust solution right now. I'll post pics when I finish them up. They have to soak overnight

HPC coatings is in Oklahoma. You send in your header/manifold/whatever and they will sandblast it clean inside and out, degrease it, then coat it and bake it.
For a set of headers for my Ram, I think it was going to be about $250 with a lifetime warranty. For our little 3G headers, I'd say maybe 100 to 150, but if you email them and tell them what you have they should be able to give you a quote on it, that's what I did. Never did get it done though due to lazyness and needing the truck up and running at all times right now.

And a nice way to dress up your engine bay and have it not be painted with cheapo rattle can stuff that peels off in six months...

there's a company in colorado, don't know how far it is from you... but i'd give them a call and price getting the manifold blasted and ceramic coated.
