ok so most of u know about my stereo in my car premier deck running a jl amp and jl wx1s sooo

sum thing is wrong my subs wont hit they only make a weird clicking sound and like a static fuzz sound

i looked at my amp and the protect light is on and the power light surges it seems at the same time the bass hits

any ideas??

the protect light is on becasue there was probably a power surge to the amp or something, so it shut the amp down. Maybe you should try resetting the amp buy taking out the fuse then putting it back in

dimming and protection are usually either:
bad ground
excessively low impedance (ohms) or a short circuit

you can test a bad ground by:
put a volt meter to +, the - to chassis ground, check voltage. You should have at least 12 V. next check the voltage to the amp's ground terminal. if it reads very low when the amp is on (less than 10V) it's a bad ground

to check the load impedance, try hookingup just 1 sub and see if the amp accepts it. most amps can't handle less than 4 ohms bridged
