there is easy way and there is hard way.
easy way, you can only swap 86-87 accord ecu. No other ecu will plug and play.
hard way. first, you have to get new distributor and modify to work with our cylinder head. second, you have to do the wiring conversion. third, you have to get chipped ecu and pay some one to get dyno tuned.

If you just want to swap ecus to gain power, well you can't with our accord. 86-87 and 88-89 accord had diff ecus. any other ecu will require extensive modification to the electrical and mechanical parts.

are you talking bout those ebay chips, no dont do it. and you need an odb-1 ecu or better to (correct me) chip or run odb-1.

no, you can't chip our ecus. our ECUS are ore OBD-0. yes they look like OBD-0 and have the same plugs but our engines use mechanical timing advance. You have to convert to OBD-0 before you can do anything with it.

Ok, I deleted the wrong information in this thread, next time I'll give you people an official warning for doing this.

shepherd79 correctly answered your question. However, there might be something that can be done with those 86-87 ecus since they have an external ROM. I've "seen" some of them chipped.

I'll see what I can do in the holidays.
