ok, well locally i found a brand new Maxtel brand H4 low beam HID kit. the price is set at $389. its more or less a plug and play kit. its just so convenient, but i dont want to waste my money on crap. i looked at everything it came with in the box, wiring, starters, ballasts, H4 HID bulb. anyways, should i shop around some more. maybe say shop online or spend my money on another brand? looks legit, but its a decision i need help with, because i was thinking of going with McCulloch, Phillips or Hella. but i will be ordering them online and whatnot. here below is a pic of exactly what i looked at. so tell me if its worth about $400+. if you have a suggestion on another brand you have or something, let me know.

WOW, too much money. You can find a Bixenon kit for that kind of money. And that brand does not ring any bells for me. The Bixenon kit I got for the Accord was from HIDynamic. Very nice kit. Now, I bought another kit for my Caddi from another outfit, and I can't remember their name, but the HIDynamic kit was much better quality.
Most kits now have the ballast/ignightor in one unit, so look for that. But I would do a Bixeneon lit so you have high beams too, for the money.

i'm also looking at doing the fog lights. not sure what color temps. but i was thinking 5400k headlight. 12000k fog lights or would that make a lot of glare? maybe its the more yellow the less glare? so maybe 3000k for the fogs. i'm definately glad i decided to sit back and think about what i'm going to go with. anyway, i'll have to check and see if i can find some good stuff online.

3000k would be a good fog light temp. Then I would do the 6000k for your headlights. That is the temp I have in the Caddi, very good visability, and no funny color. The kit I have in the Accord is a 8000k color. It is good, but very blue. 12000k is Violet, not great for visability, the closer you are to 6000k, the better.

so the more blue, the more glare right? thats what i've seen on cars with the 12000k's. looks good but not so functional.

oh i'm thining of going with Catz also. from what i hear its a good reliable Japanese brand.

Woah way too much brother!

Try ebay I just bought a kit for my wifes 2000 accord and I am extremely pleased. For the price the quality sems to be great.

I bought another hi/lo kit off another ebay seller for the hatchback and am not pleased. I mihgt have to buy from the same place I bought the 2000 accord ones.

Anyway check this guy out on ebayhttp://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Xenon-HID-Conversion-Kit-H4-H7-9003-9006-9007-all-sizes_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ36476QQihZ013QQit emZ230068558378QQrdZ1

On a side note a warning for everyone out there wanting to get the hi/lo style hid bulbs in h4. The bulb housisngs are long towards the back and hit the sheetmetal of the light making it not leaving enought space to put the h4 housing back in

that was what i was thining and why i wanted to go with just a low beam kit.

hey hondaboy, im looking into getting hids. i was wondering if maybe we can get a group buy going. i would be getting 2 kits one for the fogs and the other one for the headlights. im not to sure but monkey would like to get some too. ryan seems to be happy with his kit from HIDynamic.

HondaBoy

Abe!!!!!
Got that P.M. Should have had them by now bro.......I need to check Fed Ex. Fiing Fed Ex has been screwing up my shipments.
As for the HID......you don't have to do a wiring upgrade, the HID's only use 35 watts. And thats any kit. The inverter converts the 35 watts to somthing like 60,000 volts. There are warnings gpolore on the inverters that you don't want to touch cause it may cause death!!!
I am not sure HIDynamic is still selling on Ebay though..

HondaBoy

personally, i do want the hi/lo H4's, but i'm going to start working on brakets for my projectors. they are going to use 9005 and 9006 bulbs, so i dont really want a hi/lo kit that bad. but i'm thinking if i can get something shipped to my door for about $250 each, thats a deal because i do want the fog lights HID also.

Cheeseburger
01-04-2007, 04:14 PM
that sounds like a good deal! let me know when u find something

HondaBoy
01-04-2007, 04:53 PM
yeah, i'm looking for a good brand for a decent price with all inclusive equipment so no difficult wiring. but everything is still like $300+. but remember when hid kits were like $800+ a few years back? some still are though, hmm. anyways, i'll check around and see what i can find. esp if y'all want to do a group buy.

So I tryed to get ahold of hidynamic, and there site is indeed down and they don't respond. I am going to get in touch with the company I got the kit for the Caddy from and see what they say bout a small group buy.
Yay!!

HondaBoy
01-11-2007, 12:36 AM
that'd be nice. so how does a group buy work? does it include shipping them to all the different addresses of people buying them or are they sent to one address? i thought about the hid kit i can buy here in town, but that does seem like a rip. at the time it seemed nice and convenient. good thing i didnt go with it.

So how many people are tentatively in on an HID group buy???????????? I am going to ask about low beam only, so they will just be a H4 low beam type kit.
4 people so far..........maybe. SPEAK UP IF YOU WANT ONE, I am going to send e-mails or call tomorrow.

HondaBoy

has to be dual beam hid kit for me to even consider buying it. but i'd be up for it if its not more than $300 including shipping. although depending on things i may go for an expensive kit if y'all are going to do a group buy.
