what are the symptoms, if any, of a bad charcoal cannister?

download honda shop manual and it should be there under carburator evaporative emission controls.

normally ur charcoal canister does not go bad. its one of those things that will last longer than the actual car itself. All the canister has is treated charcoal (as the name states) to soak up unburnt raw fuel after the engine has been shut off.

various conditions can cause the canister to fill up with water or either fuel. Mostly fuel, then what happens is the fumes can cause the car to run too rich. Some cars can develop a vacuum leak depending on the make, when the canister gets full or is not plumbed correctley.

The canister has a drain on the bottom, so i dont see why it would fill up

My answer refers to various models, and the drain can get plugged by media
