I messed with the timing the other day and I even went as far as removing the timing belt just in case I had missed something before when I did the belt and it still ran the same.
The adjustment on the distributor was moved all the way forward in order to keep the idle up if I moved it the slightest in the other direction it would sputter and die.
Now with the parts I changed over I'm able to move the dist. in either direction and get the timing set
my car runs best fully advanced :)

and glad u got her running good

Cah it is not a good idea to run the car with the timing off like that. You can ruin the engine as far as I know. I know when I tried messing with my timing when I heard a weird pinging noise, it made it worse fully advance.

Now about that noise, I've read all A20's have it, and even the book says its ok. :bong:

did u take ur vac lines off the dizzy frist?
my cars idle starts dropping to low when i turned it the other way and the car shakes with a low idle (And sounds like every bolt is falling off the dash and body haha) but with it advanced it runs at a nice 1100rpm (When the stupid thing isent revving up and down X_X )

No, the vacuum advance diaphragm does not advance the timing at idle. When you advance the timing the engine runs faster, when you retard it, it runs slower.

hey pico, does connecting the alternator directly to the battery help at all? whats the benefit of doing it?

I read somewhere about upgrading the wires to the alternator in some hot rodding article, the wire just bypasses the factory wire in the harness. It improved my charging and my lights did not dim as bad after upgrading the wire.
To me it helped out when I was running the stock alternator

Took a quick spin around the block and it does feel different feels better than the H&R springs. Just have to wait for it to settle a bit more to see how she sits.
My front wheel gap went from 3 fingers to a tight 2 finger gap so I know there is going to be a difference.

LOL at everybody chiming in on this one. I feel ya...
the thing is I think.. is that we feel like we should defend these toys because they are always brought up in the next tiff with the wife, and we also do not get a fair turn around when they blow $xxx amount (insert frivelous feminine expenditure here) which to us has no value and seems like a total shredding of cashola.
Just say at least you were not buying smoking dope stuffing dollars down strangers panties, or getting oreintal massages with the happy ending treatment.. LOLz

decided since I was stuck at home today with my f' up ankle I would attempt the map light install I got from 2drSE-i. Turns out I had to cut into the headliner so that the bracket that attaches to the mirror would sink more into the roof.
I couldnt bring myself to cut into my pristine headliner so I gave the blade to my wife and had her go at it for me. (sorry for the crappy pics all I had was my cell at the time)

I still have to hardwire in the lights and it will be done. The only thing I notice is that the edge of the visors hit against the map light housing I guess I'll have to try and readjust the visor or have them shortened a little.

Next project on the list is to get this chrome antenna housing that I got from 84Accord installed, my black housing has a pop rivet holding it in place and not screwed in like the chrome piece had.

Small update sort of.
I sold my Legend to a buddy of mine and decided to buy another car for a daily driver.
Thanks to 84Accord who posted up this listing from the Bay Area Craigslist, I made arrangements to purchase this 88 lx-i, 5 speed, from the original owner, the car has a bad timing belt but he says it went out taking off from dead stop.
The car has 98K on it and I'll be towing the car home this Sunday if all goes well.
These pics are off the Craigslist ad, I'll post some up when I bring the car home Sunday.
Wish me luck everyone.

I'll install the pacesetter at my friends shop where she wont see the install being done.
Actually I've been wanting to do this for awhile now and since I have weekends off I thought it was time.
I just got back from a trip around the neighborhood and what a difference it made and for some reason my idle has picked up and no longer has a severe erratic drop in RPM's at idle.

Didn't you have problems with the DC header before, what did you find out what the problem was with the idle? Nice boot your friends wife made.

After going over it several times and posting for help, it was the 02 sensor wires crossed.
I realized it after I put the pacesetter back in and it was still running the same, thats when I noticed the 02 wires crossed :uh:

Just came back from a nice 100mile drive and I love the DC Header.

I got the header over a year ago from one of the old members here on the forum, new in the box and I installed it once but took it of and put it in storage. What top part of the boot?

My wife has a sandblast cabinet so I used it to take all the black paint off of my CAI and repaint it gunmetal color.
What do you think?
Before painted black:

AEM Intakes are expensive, I lucked out on this one the seller only wanted 75.00 for it and it came with 2 AEM filters
I wanted to get one with the CARB sticker on it since the smog rules here in CA. are so tuff and if I get pulled over and told to pop my hood everything will look legit.

I took it out for a drive this morning and it's just probably me but, the idle and powerband seems better and smoother than when I had the homemade CAI.
But like I said it's probably just my mind playing tricks on me.
At least we know that a 6th gen intake will fit with a little modification.
