it's been a couple of months, way to broke to do anything to the car.
I stopped by my friends tire shop today and he told me he had something for me.
He came back from the storage area with a set of these.

I've decided to redo my front brakes. I'm taking the Legend Rotors and Integra Calipers off and going back to the original brakes.
I ordered these at work the other day and they came in just in time for the weekend.
PowerSlot Rotors, StopTech Pads and Centric Calipers.

I had a high speed vibration that I could not locate, I did the whole front end with new bushings and ball joints and new bearings. My shimmy was from warped rotors, so I decided just to go stock for now

Battery relocation Done

And this is the fused junction block that I got for the cables up front
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v337/picopop/100_0643.jpg

Roger if I run this and want to put a turn key style battery cut off switch in the cabin should I place it between the battery leads and the fuse junction, or the fuse and starter?

Instead of running cables into the cabin, why dont you just install one of these at the battery

Much easier to do

Can you explain to us what you did with the led's there Pico?

I just bought a cheap LED strip and wired it to power so that it powers up with the lights.
I took the instrument cluster cover off and unscrewed the cover with the 2 dash bulbs on it. I soldered it to the wires going to the dash lights so that it works with the dimmer.
I can take pics of it later if you want me to.

Pico

I don't want to pop the trunk or the hood every time I get out of the car.

It would be easier to locate the wire under the dash that supplies power to the fuse box, splice into that, fuse it and wire the switch to it.
I've never wired up a battery kill switch inside the car

I know the potential for fire is there, so that's why I asked. I haven't located where the trickle or short is yet. It still drops while sitting. I tried pulling fuses for those "retractor motors" but it did nothing. And the battery itself will hold charge when disconnected.

You should do a write up, on the replacement of the old filament bulbs with LEDs. I haven't changed any of my buttons yet. They're all still originally colored. I think red for anything heater related, blue for anything non heater related pertaining to air, and white for everything else. I get mine from here though: http://www.oznium.com/led
Those guys are so fkn awesome with customer support. I asked for a sticker and a few business cards, they send me 5 huge stickers, and 20 business cards. 2 of my Pink Superbrights wouldn't work straight out of the bag. I called oznium and informed them and 2 days later, i have 2 pink replacements plus 2 extra for free for my troubles.

They're from colorado. 2nd day after ordering, standard shipping and they're at my house in the mailbox. I'd imagine, you'd get them next day.

It's also quite annoying how it costs a lot..

Rendon LX-i
02-15-2012, 03:51 PM
kinda sounds like a IAC issue roger. car will idle high means stuck open a bit means less vacuum means map signal changes means more fuel. obd0 dont have all these fancy sensors like these new cars dude which adapt to changes if a fuel mixer is richer or leaner. getting the idle right and will make the vacuum hg right meaning the map signal will change to spec and run leaner. SOunds funny but small shit like that makes a world of defference.

I would clean the iac and go from there . check your vacuum and you should see 19hg if less check your valve lash. all these things will make a big change on how your car idles.

pm roger if you need some details.

Hm, sounds like a bit of a frustrating issue. Vacuum leak perhaps? Crappy gasket somewhere?

It's also quite annoying how it costs a lot..
I've checked, but not a throughly ... I'll try again this weekend
Thanks

kinda sounds like a IAC issue roger. car will idle high means stuck open a bit means less vacuum means map signal changes means more fuel. obd0 dont have all these fancy sensors like these new cars dude which adapt to changes if a fuel mixer is richer or leaner. getting the idle right and will make the vacuum hg right meaning the map signal will change to spec and run leaner. SOunds funny but small shit like that makes a world of defference.

I would clean the iac and go from there . check your vacuum and you should see 19hg if less check your valve lash. all these things will make a big change on how your car idles.

pm roger if you need some details.

I replaced the IAC with a new one but now that I think about it, that was 5yrs ago..time to try a cleaning
Thanks Josh

you can always get a P.O. box way up north and not have to smog your car. I may give it a shot when I start my build.

Run the tank down low, get a bottle of denatured alcohol from home depot or something pour it in and do do over 50% throttle and I'll be good. It's the same concept as e85.

Runs rich, and Idle is really weird. Somedays idles perfect and someday crap.
I know some people that will pass it but they want to much to do it.

Hey dude, you ever figured out why it sporadically idles odd and rich? Mines done this for nearly a month and unfortunately, it's not a vacuum leak...My vacuum gauge stays at 22-24mmHg constaly at an idle. (Of course it fluxuates with the oddball idle.):hmph:

sold it to a friend from my car club lowriding days..Sad to see it go but happy for a new project.
I'm going back to building a Lowrider, looking for a 78-79 Monte Carlo,But my wife would like me to get a 48 Chevy Truck that my boss is selling.
I still have my hatch and I'll still be around here

These cars are not going to do well with solid mounts. Unless, that is, you enjoy a lot of vibration and rattling. In 1990 the new 2.2 liter Accord engine had balance shafts added to reduce vibration as well as an electronically controlled fluid filled mount "system." So, anything newer is going to feel a lot smoother. I know it's time to replace my mounts when the contents of the glove box start audibly rattling at traffic lights.
