power steering squeeling belt is tight though!

K, when i am at a complete stop and turn steering wheel left or right sounds like pump and or belt is squeeling.. Belt is tight and not glazed, also when on highway, it feels like steering goes loose and it wanders a bit, there seems to be a bit of a dead spot in the steering wheel , is this a rack problem or could it be attributed to the power steering pump? i cannot hear the belt squeeling when i am driving, just low speed corners or when i am stopped. any help would be appreciated!!

could be a few things. check see if you have proper fluid level. always use PS made for HONDA, everything else can damage it.
it can be the pump. just pick up one from junk yard and try it. it fixed my problem, and i haven't had any hick ups or hangs.
