The thing was, I saw him coming towards me and I threw it in reverse about half a second before the impact.. He still hit me, but Imagine if I was sitting still.....

yeah I'm tryin to get everything together and follow all the steps. I think $2400 is a lot but forget that I aint havin no mercy for his azz. I already hacve a hood, so I can fix my car for chea, and then use the other money for my '55.
yeah the radiator and a/c condensor are bent but they still work.
the cooling fans dont work anymore cause theyre pushed back against the frame & grounding out.

You know how it goes, when I get back on my feet, its gonna be colder than before!

If you get the money out of him then i would fix it up and do other mods maybe different bumper not that their are many i like but might as well. I like the Erebuni front bumper but its fiberglass so that turns me off.....Good luck and atleast you got a court date and knew who did it. It could have been worse.

It doesn't matter what he likes or doesn't like. He fled the scene of an accident. I don't know about Louisiana, but in Oregon, that is a felony offense. He should be glad that he isn't serving time for what he did.

Yeah the dude said the amount of the damage was over 2x the amount of my car.
But remember it isnt going through the insurance company since he didnt have any. I didnt tell my insurance company about it becasue they wont help me anyway cause I only have liability (stupid me), and if they knew about the wreck they would just try to raise my pay or somethin.

The tint is 35% on the sides but it has reflector (mirror) element in it as well, I dont know the percentage. But it's legal. It looks like a mirror half the time, but in the right light you can still see thru it

Yeah.. I didn't even think about the whole fact that he doesn't have insurance.

I accidentally backed into the side of a passing car in a parking lot (I was in my truck going sloooow, and he obviously wasn't looking or magically expected me to see him and stop). It was automatically "my fault", and I was ticketed $125. He didn't have insurance and was ticketed $500! Also, I have "uninsured motorist" coverage with State Farm, so they paid to fix the damage to his car. Since the damage was over $750, I also am paying minor surcharges for a few years, and lost other discounts as well.

I felt bad for the kid, but damn!

09-05-2002, 08:09 AM
hey jigga, are you sure u didn't recieve some sort of neck or back injury in the accident that he should pay for to :D, if someone hit me and took off i would sue for far more than the damage is to the car, is he gettin in any trouble for leaving the scene of an accident? like a fine or jail time?
oh and don't worry about the court appearance, he did 2 major illigal things, left the scene and driving without insurance, the courts will not be smiling on him

I was convicted of leaving the scene of a crime about 4 years ago when I had my AE92... I got the charges dropped because I came back to the scene of the crime right when the cops showed up. I still had to pay the damages and got a wreckless driving ticket.

If this person is over 18 then he'll probably get a fine for leaving the scene of a crime, but I hardly doubt he'd get jail time for only 2500 bucks worth of damage to a car...

THe officer tracked him down by his plate # I took down, and she gave him 2 tickets..:deal:...1) Hit and Run 2) Drivin without insurance. He looked like he was about 37/39

I sure hope I can get the whole $2400... I'm thinkin I should get 2 more estimates to make sure evreything str8
Yeah and my back is...kinda....sore-ish...............;)

Don't do the fake medical shit.. that pisses me off even if he was a jerk and left. You'll get whatever the places are telling you it costs probably because of these few facts...

He hit you
He left the scene
He didn't come back

LOL, Since my dad owned the 87 Accord before I did, The day we got it was soo long ago, but the day we got it, the Blue Angels were flying and showin off at the base, so we were in line and everything, I was out of the car with the camera shootin the kick ass shit they were doin, my dad kept tellin me to do this and that and he wasn't paying any attention to anyone but me, all of a sudden CRUNCH, he hit a big ass chevy with a tow hitch at like 10mph, that hood just crumpled, we got all the dents out, but it just don't sit right any more, one side sits right, then the other side has this inch gap from the headlights and the hood.
Sorry about your car man, I hope you get every pennies worth out of the bastard!!!
