j/w guys... when do u all shift?

i found that 5200 rpms is my fave shift point

i read somewhere when shifting u want to find the point where its smooth

if your fly foward out of your seat you are over reving on your shifts...

if you are in too low rpms when in the next gear your shifting too eairly

just some tips...

if i am pedal to the metal i shift at 6200-6300. it pulls all the way through.
if i do city driving, around 3000-4000 rpm.

For normal driving, im with shepherd at around 3500 - 4000

and i think 6000 is a little to high... its a honda not a racecar!

I usually shift around 3000rpm or less. When times call to accelerate fast i don't go over 4500rpm.

Under normal driving conditions i shift around 3,000-3,500 first and second and 3rd depends on the speed limit, traffic etc. I only redline 1st and second when i must.

6000 is not too high if your engine pulls all the way through. it is all about tunning and finding right parts.

Ideally you should check your owner's manual for the correct shift points.

I always shifted at 2500, which translated approximately to:

1st to 2nd: 15mph
2nd to 3rd: 25mph
3rd to 4th: 35mph
4th to 5th: 50mph

If you're just cruising at a certain speed you can actually shift a little lower than that. Above 2000 but below 2500. Obviously if you want to make some speed you'll have to shift higher. But this will get you the best fuel economy and keep your wear down during normal driving.

8 seconds? Are you sure about that? That's a little fast for a car like this. I recommend you try it again with a stopwatch.

it is about right. I know aerodeck EFI can do about 8-8.5 seconds from 0-60 mph. paul from russia, tested and he got close to 8 flat.
hatchback may be a little heavier so i assume it is in the area 8.5-9s.

I shift at around 3000-3500 in city driving for first and second, and once im up to speed, I shift at even lower rpms for the other gears.

If i want power, 6000-6200.

no man we did it with a stop watch on flat ground its like the hihg 8's it was a while back it was like 8.7... when we first tried it we where ona tiny incline and it did about 10sec... a little incline like that affected it soo much

u gotta remeber my car has no ac and is running a bit rich... its a bit more powerful

and a hatch has to be the lightest... the rar is soo light on a hatch... theres nuthing to a hatch... my friends played a prank at school and picked my cr up and moved it 3 parking spots over... i was like... wait i still have my keys... damn fatty fat friends
