Someone swerved in front of me and slammed on their brakes. Fortunately, they got the ticket. Unfortunately, my Accord is smashed.
On a side note, anyone need any parts? It's an '88 Hatchie LX-i with the maroon velour interior, and with the exception of a missing headliner, the interior is almost perfect. The engine (A20) also ran just fine prior to the wreck. Make me an offer on anything you need.

I drove it home after the wreck, but it won't even push start anymore. There are some serious electrical problems going on in there. If it weren't for that, I'd just fix it, but as it is I don't really want to mess with it.

yea really that is a strange looking smack, looks like you hit a gorilla ! what is the red liquid on the hood?
you may have cracked your battery, not a big deal, it would show up as electrical shorts.
Im with MH on this one, it aint hit that bad but I know its scary looking.

I would not mind having the motor and FI setup but your too far

Actually, I hit the rear left corner of a new Cavalier. That's not red liquid on the hood, it's the strip of clear coat that hadn't peeled off yet reflecting weirdly (I took the picture at night). The clear coat had been peeling off from the sides. This happened a couple of weeks ago, and it's been sitting in my fiancee's carport getting covered in red dust.

I had to spend the $1200 I got from the insurance on paying it off. I still owed $1100 or so on the car, so I don't have the money to fix it. Just from looking at it, I'd need around $800 to get it all fixed up. And even then, It'd be 4 different colors.

Blk87dx: Looks like they're going for around $100 new, so say $30? Looks like the shipping costs out to idaho would run around $20, so say $40 total? Email me at [email protected] If you want it.

If I had a way to get it here I would use it for parts, but I have enough to do with the major projects on my hatch right now. thats consuming most of my extra money. plus we have payments on the 98 too. thats my wifes project. I would be really leery of that hatch having frame damage with the type of hit it took. I could repair something like that, but it's a huge task. I couldn't tell it in the picture, but i was trying to see if the top of the door frames distorted. that energy has to go somewhere and it probably twisted the body. If it was mine i would fix it,but then again I've got something like ten years in mine, and probaby as much money as guynabob has in his.

It was a pretty low-speed wreck, I was only going about 15-20 when I hit her. As far as I can tell, there's no frame damage.

Well, ya talked me into it.

I just couldn't convince myself to get rid of it. It's coming out of storage next week, and the fixing shall commence.

I'll post pics of the progress as it goes.

Thanks for the encouragement,
Terry

It looks like the middle took the most of it, so the core support should be fine, can't say the same for the radiator though. Everything should be bolt on, so you are lucky. If you can open the hood, could you get some pictures of the inside damage?

The radiator's bent, but that can be replaced.

Just got a quote; all of the parts I'll need to get it running again will run around $750 new (I'f I'm lucky and it's just body damage and the radiator), So I should be able to get away around, say, $400-$500 from the junkyard.

I hope it all goes well,
Terry

MessyHonda: No wonder, too. It's been sitting for quite a while.

Looks like I'll be able to get it back to the garage this monday, and the disassembly will begin!
