yeah my dx didn't come with any rear speakers but i cut the holes and mounted some kickers 6.5 be sure to measure twice and cut once...one of my speakers were touching ground and my deck would go to safe mode and would not work.

teck

Aftermarket speakers look MUCH better with a DX rear deck versus the stock LX/LXi pods.

I've had my 3g broken into... took my stereo. Funny thing is they didn't take the processor which is worth about three times as much.

damn sabz, when did that happen?

not a bad looking install. don't mount the amp to the box, though. quite bad on the amp itself.

clean up the wiring, bolt that box down, and make a plate for the amp to mount to the side of your trunk and you'll have a really nice install.

pioneer is actually pretty nice, though i would go with clarion (which i did), eclipse or an older alpine. i'm not a real big fan of the new ones since they only have 2 volt outputs. my friend had a really nice panasonic, the only problems were the error correction kinda sucked and it was sensitive to shock.

It's a good start. I'd replace the HU soon if I were you though. It doesnt matter how good of speakers or amps you use, they will only reproduce as good of a sound signal as the HU puts out. I only, and exclusively, use Alpine. I have an older CDA-7939 in my 96 Ram with the 3 4V preouts, and an ERA-G320 Sound Field Processor run through an Ai-Net cable. With only two door speakers, and two subs under the rear seat, it would almost run you out of the cab it was so loud, and with no distortion. And that was using a 4 channel 250W RMS Clarion amp to run the whole thing, and no cap. That HU was the model right below the flagship model in 96, the motorized LCD screen one, the IVA-1000 or something like that. Shame it has some faceplate problems and CD playback problems now.

But yeah, dont skimp on the HU.

mmmmm. that sounds way nice. the only thing i'm not liking about my clarion is you can hear the tracking motor over the speakers when you change tracks. i do have some alternator whine to track down now though:rant: . i did change the condensor thing, and that helped. i have the rcas running down my center console, and the power wires down the outer pass side, so i'm not sure where it's coming from
