Hey I dint know that, what happened to them?

putting on an airbox should be simple enough, may need some minor adjustments like trimming here and there and changing fasteners
I have not actually done one of those specific fabrications so I can not tell you any tips. sorry
Try search, civic airbox and cruise around those you may find some tricks.

guys guys guys.. calm down lol the air box he is talking about is FROM a civic and can be modded so that it attatches to the CARB to alow a cold air system to be built into the carb setup.... its not as easy as buying a cheep tube and filter when your working on a carb setup so you have to think outside the box.. (or think of useing a box).. look at some of the pics or look at the threads and you will see what box there talking about

you dont need an air box and can do a cold air intake on a carb
most japper vans have the airfilter mounted remotely and have a big tube that runs to the carb
there is no reason that it cant be done with a car.
mount a pod filter under the guard or behind the headlight and run tubing to the carb

the box there talking about is not an air filter box.... i guess you need a picture to actully see what there talking about, i will get one and post it up from one of the links in a minute

as you can see there not talking about a air filter box its a box that mounts to the carb very well with very little modification, theres other ways to do it but this is one of the easyest ways to get a cold air setup for a carb

thats exactly the type of thing i'm talking about
just extend the tube to behind the bumper or some where away from engine heat and your laughing

yup u after use the civic carb airbox to use a cold air intake or short ram intake since the 3rd gen carbs have big fat intakes that dont have tha round hole lol

wel sorry guys, i'm not terribly familiar with civic parts
most people i know would call that a plenum chamber eventho its a carbed car
Down this end of the world an air box is where the air filter goes, everything else is just ducting

thats the thing i hate about the net
you can only go on your own knowledge when you reading something
the differnce in the way other countries call one thing a diff name can be a bit misleading at times
the us calling a boot a trunk, bonnet a hood, mudguard a fender just to name a few can lead to the odd misunderstanding eh

go to Google type in " auto dismantlers in **your town and state here**"

and mpfi is multi point fuel injection . the civics that u want the air box from are dpfi .. which is direct point fuel injection

the nearest pick n pull to you is located in Rocklin or Sacramento. Long drive for parts, but probably worth it

yeah go to the junkyard and get the piece off a civic and then get ur piping for the intake and a filter. u are gonna have to mod the hole on that piece where it mounts to the carb. after you get it and try to put it on ur carb ull see what i mean. and see where u got to cut the hole a lil bigger or drill a new hole i think for the bolts to secure it.it will use the same two bolts that ur stock big air filter box uses.. and then mount ur pipe and filter how you want to that.i think the shorter the pipe is the quicker throttle respose but less top end. and longer pipe is a lil slower throttle response but alot better top end. but i think it is close to ur hood or will rub r somthing i dont remember.:werd:
