I have been using the standard green Prestone coolant. Honda sells their own coolant that is blue (I don't know if the color means anything except from going thru the 500 threads after doing a search on this subject, some of you say the red one is for higher mileage & it has "additives." The blue Honda coolant is "Type 2." Has anybody who used to use the regular green stuff tried switching to the Honda blue Type 2 coolant? I've been following the owner's manual that says use a 50/50 mixture since concentrations of greater than 60% coolant will impair cooling efficiency and are not recommended. It also said low-mineral drinking water or distilled water should be mixed with the coolant. In addition, it says do not mix different coolants & do not use additional rust inhibitors or anti-rust products as they may not be compatible with the radiator coolant. So if I switched, would there be problems?

I asked this question before on here when it came time to replace my coolant, and the answer was just to keep on using the green antifreeze.
I havent had problems since :D

I use Prestone and Honda All Season Antifreeze/Coolant Type 2 (PREMIXED) (P/N OL999-9001) goes for $12 but it's what comes in every NEW honda, and it's rated for 50,000 Miles, or 120,000 miles when it's in the car from the factory.

I figure if it can protect a All Aluminum motor for that long, it can cool my A20

water wetter apparently lowers temps pretty well. by itself w/ distilled water, works the best. but it works well enough w/ coolant too.

I use the regular Preston green/lime looking coolant. I mix it myself. I have a 50/50 of coolant and distilled water. I have no problems what so ever, but i do recommend using distilled water.
