how hard would it be to addapt this (http://holley.com/0-7448.asp) to our cars and would it be too much cfm for our cars... also i know i would get worse gas mileage but any idea on what i would get for a tank? any help please.

Interesting, Dirt track carb 350 cfm. to comply with 2bll restrictions.
I dont think it would be too much but you would have to get jet kit to make it streetable. Idle, Accelerator pump squirt adjustments, etc.
You may need to copy a Weber adapter kit and get a piece of flat billit aluminum to make the top piece. That carb is very similar to a Motorcraft 2 bbl Ford used on V8 motors. There are threads here that address questions on the use of those.
good question

it is easy if you know to to use dremel and have some time on your hand.
I had it mounted on my car and it was running OK. the low end sucked since it was dumping too much gas but high rpm was ridiculous.
I still have the intake manifold that I ported for the Holley i had and i even still have the adapter plate.
You have to drill and tap new wholes for the adapter plate.

i love webers but will never have the money so the holley would work for me. my dad has a lot of knowlege on how to tune the holley 2bbl and 4bbl carbs perfectly for small engines so if i just need to make a plate ok thanks for you help everyone.

I have always wanted to try one too. I look for a carb car every once in a while.

There a great carb used em in a lotta vehicles that take a Holly style carb like Ford pickup trucks etc. I usually use the 500 cfm version since its a little cheaper.

listen to him...i had a gibungus 4bbl on my s-10 with a 350...down low i could hardly pull on little 4 cylinders...but once it got up in revs, like on the highway the thing screamed.

If you have someone that knows how to tune carbs though id say go for it

Measure the throttle blades that would tell you what it will do. I think Holley's are a standard size like 2.250" if the Hondas or Webber are smaller thats gonna help with low speed throttle response. If there the same then it can be tuned.

I know I keep asking this but is it synchronous.
I only ask cause converting it to mechanical or even vacuum secondary could help. Vacuum secondary is supposed to be better for automatics, but thats not to say a manual can't have one. A vacuum secondary should help with milage too as long as you can run primarily off one barrel, and since both barrels are the same size a large primary like that should allow the secondary to open later unlike a smaller primary which needs the secondary to open sooner.

go to autoparts store or online and get rochester carb to holley carb 2bbr adapter plate.

If your asking if its both barrels at once then yes. Unlike the hondas im familair with its a small one first then a bigger one.

no no you got me all wrong

I'm just saying convert it to progressive since it will help with milage and low end performance.
At the same time you will have a larger primary barrel then the stock keihin primary. I didn't mean run a larger primary barrel then the secondary barrel.

So basicly I was comparing the size of the primary if the 350 was converted to a progressive and matched up against the keihin or 32/36.

Trouble is both barrels on the Holey 2300 run on a single throttle shaft unlike the 2305 progressive, so converting the 2300 to a progressive carb is not possible.
Well unless you want cut the shaft in half and lathe grooves for C-clip's as ends to make two independant shafts and mill the base to fit the clips.

The other 350 that is progressive is the Holley 2305
The Model 2305 uses holley part number " 0-80120 " for the 350 CFM version
The Model 2305 uses holley part number " 0-80095 " for the 500 CFM version

I also looked at moding the 350 for a 4cylinder after shep had told me he had done it... I found that they were adding restrictiors to the metering blocks... this is the only restrictor kit I found, though a few shops online did offer to do the conversion for 350 and 500 cfm carbs.

Racer Walsh has a restrictor kit for the 350 part# 1218

Have you looked into this product? it should help with tunning the holley, assuming there is one for the carb.

http://store.summitracing.com/egnsearch.asp?N=400251+302120+115&autoview=sku

actually I found the one for the 2300

http://store.summitracing.com/partdetail.asp?autofilter=1&part=PHP%2D15001&N=700+400251+302120+115&autoview=sku

should be much less of a headache with the external jet adjustments.

there is another kit for the 2300 but it's for the circle track version of the carb... not sure on the difference but I assume it might have richer settings, then again.

sorry i had missed your other post. right (correct) the holley is one shaft so it be very hard to convert but i see there is one that is progressive. Thats pretty wild I never saw one like that.

the Holley 750 dp I have here the holes, throttle plates, are 1.680"

Yeah I think I used 1.680 for the picture I drew, not sure if I made the keihin to scale though.

The Percy adjust a jets are not really very good. try doing a search of some car sites that are like this one. They make the carb flood out on accelration and decel. Good idea just they dont work.

Yeah I saw the "Dies on braking" & "may lean in top end"

I found someone using it as a tool to find the right jets size, then swapping out the adjust-a-jet and then buying the jets he needed.

Sucks the product isn't a win win. :(

here was a nice article, this carb had the Percy block installed, but too much other mumbo jumbo done to the engine and carb so it's not really to say for sure where their problem lies.
