Yeah! your right!
I wish the 88-89 grilles were like that.
Then you could have 88-89 Eyelid's, corners, grille ends with a 86-87 Grill!
looks like the same little peace on a 86 or 87 grill
i thought that too, but the ones on mine go straight down vertically, and the one a accord goes down on a angle, i might try get 1 of these little pieces off a 86 accord and see if it fits
EDIT:
see the difference in the ends:

This is an interesting thread really. You're noticing all the little differences between the Vigor and Accord. Another one of those little tiny differences that Honda like to do to make things no-so-swappable.
It looks to me like not only is the grille different, but the headlight ends, and the hood as well in fact.
Should be a fun project... Looking forward to updates! :D
mkymonkey
02-07-2007, 11:27 PM
yeah to me it looks like the hood is completely different. i mean the angle of the USDM one is different than vigor. not so noticeable until you stare though.
http://i92.photobucket.com/albums/l10/mkymonkey/accord_vs_vigor.jpg
im 99.99999.999% sure the only difference in the hoods is the accord one has 2 holes in it for the H and the vigor doesnt
2ndGenGuy
02-07-2007, 11:43 PM
I think if you look closely where the grille meets up with that little piece that you're missing, you'll see that the angle and depth into which that piece is cut into the hood is different. It could just be the camera angles though. Pictures don't always tell the whole story.
yeah i noticed that too, my one looks a little rounder than that other one.. im gonna see if the 88-89 accord one fits on the hood... should be interesting
mkymonkey
02-07-2007, 11:52 PM
it might be the same hood, and the grille on the vigor just covers it. you know what i mean? cuz if you notice, the grill is taller on the vigor than on the accord. sooooo it seems if it would be the same hood, the grill would have to cover some of it and be a bit taller.

yup, all that A/C stuff is comming out too, i think i might buy that F1 interior while im at it :)
so yeah today i bought 2 cans of paint, 2 cans of clear, 1 big-ish can of primer, 2 cans of crc, 2 cans of degreaser some oil and a oil filter :D
i started off by degreasing the valve cover, what a great job it done too :D then decided to wash the whole engine, and then i swapped in good battery cables @ battery, then done a oil change, what a bitch that was, couldnt get the filter loose at all so i just stabbed it and turned it with the screw driver :D and then i replaced the extra rear speaker that didnt work..
the camera flashed and brought out the worst of the engine bay, but it is much cleaner in person :D

Finally, That car looks really nice!
thanks :) but i still have a list of things i wanna do:
- Replace faulty ball joint (still have to figure out which one needs replacing)
- Fix up the rear end, aligning the trunk & bumper
- Paint the fender
- Fix up the bumper
- Find that end piece for the Vigor grill
- Replace left mirror
- Fix the rust spots
- Complete the climate control conversion
- Might install bumper pole as I can't find the body filler stuff :(
and then i can start spending money (if any) on mods or what not :D first of them is of course a manual gearbox (which im already bidding on) :)

so yeah today, i examined the original bumper & blue bumpers together, and with some CRC, vice grips, zip ties, screw driver and a hammer, i swapped the bumper supports from the blue one to the white one and after a hour or 2 of bitching around with it, i got it to work, put it on the car, and NO warped parts :D thanks to the zip ties, but still, it needs some love

That wouldn't solve the problem with only one high beam coming on. If one comes on then the switch is fine. Possible you have a loose wire somewhere so check that. The combo switch just switches from low beam to high beam using a single connection for it. If you look at my how to there are 2 connections on a little plate, one for low beam and one for high.

Do They Make A Rear Bumper Cover For The Vigor?
Yeah, I think they even made a body kit or two but there HARD TO FIND
you can use a accord bumper and modify it to a vigor one by cutting a hole in it, and swapping over the whole plate bracket/support & surrounding, as you can see here:

(i need another engine hoist )
and depending on what happens with my other car, will determine the future of this car, if i can get my grey one legal, i would try to make this one somewhat fast (stripping it down even more & adding engine mods :O). if the grey one fails to get anywhere, well then I'll (try to) restore this car. i also wanted to find out how rusty this thing was, turned out it wasnt as bad as i thought, just 4 holes, the rest is just surface rust :) but found a crap load of shitty wiring done at the front (not only by me either) this time i wanna do a proper job with this car, not crappy ones like in the past.

i havnt updated this thread in aaaaages.. not that theres a hell of alot to show what its been through. the body now looks worse than what it did, and im afraid if i wash it it would look even worse again. but i did get a new (well used, but new for me) release bearing (yay) and the water pump blew (neigh).. also done a wire tuck, stuck on prelude gold top manifolds (they make it look nicer), sanded off all the flaking black paint from the rocker cover
