sweet. looks good. i might go arp too when i get mine. looks inspiring. i'll be watching. and on 17 psi, you should easily make 300+ hp, probably about 330, 340 to the wheels. but assuming you're using a good sized turbo. 17 psi on a 13g isn't quite the same as 17 psi on an fp red turbo. :)

Good luck with the build. I wonder why my B20A had PK2 pistons... every one I see has PH3.

All goldtop's use PH3 pistons and the blacktops use PK2 pistons :) What is your kid trying to show you?

There's no difference. In 1988, they used PK2 pistons in both the 3rd gen lude and 3rd gen Accord. They just grouped the pat numbers I guess.

Im not sure they numbers would be that high but i never got mine on the dyno to get actual numbers. My tuner said at 17 PSI i was probably pushing just around 300 if not a little lower. I think some people by default compare the b20a with newer b-series that rev high and in my opinion will yield higher numbers that the JDM B20A.

I know its capable of those numbers as iv seen a handful of B20A5's pushing those numbers but their pushing slightly more boost. But im working on some new stuff for mine and im hoping to get the turbo going sometime this summer but im not sure if thats realistic for what i have planned or not but needless to say its in the works again.

I be happy with mid 13's in the 1/4 mile.

AccordEpicenter
02-11-2007, 12:58 PM
roffle, you can do that with alot less than 17psi haha. In that B20 10-12psi with a good driver should be high 13s territory easy.

Well I'm too lazy to take apart my own engines just to confirm this, but I think the difference might be that the PK2 use the 22mm piston pin and the PH3 use the 20mm piston pin. Unless anyone has reported 22 mm piston pins on any PH3 pistons?

can someone explain to me what the difference is? :)

eh, i was more basing my numbers by comparing it to the 4g63. since both are 2.0 dohc 16v motors, i figure they should be in the same neighborhood. although stock na, the b20a actually makes more power than the 4g63. but with the right turbo, the 4g63 makes 340 to the wheels at 17 psi. so if the b20a makes more power from the get go, it should at least have about the same power level higher up. could be flawed logic, though.

After i get it all in i am going to take it to be tuned then we can see what kind of numbers it will make.

Yeah, I will try to get mine to the dyno before i blow it up again......LOL no i dont plan on blowing it up anymore. I only wish the B20A had a higher rev span cause at 17PSI i had to shift really fast plus the shorter gears didnt help either.

Youre going to need mad tuning, my friend just put a nearly identicle turbo on his RSX and it didnt pull after 5000rpm.... i mean, NO turbo power after 5000rpm...

It had 266ft lbs of torqe, and 161hp to the wheels... after tuning he had 168ft lbs of torque, and 280whp and now it pulls all the way through the rpm range.

My garrett T3 Super 60 was a nice turbo for the b20a cause it spooled up around 2800. But i want to step it up and try to make it a little more powerful seeing that i spent a small fortune to build this thing. But you definately want something that can spool early cause we dont have the RPM range to support something that spools late.

hey where did u get those arp studs and from what car
They are custom from apr
From Rob Thread
Hi Rob, I have a stud 6.35" long part # ATP6.350-1LUB for $10.74 each. And, I have a
7.25" part# ATP7.250-1LUB for $11.33 each. Both of these studs are under cut(reduced
in the shank area). They are the closest that I can find in the lengths that you gave me.

These should work fine i just placed an order for all of the stuff so i will let you know if they dont work by chance. Otherwise this is what you need:

QTY 8 6.35" # ATP6.350-1LUB
QTY 2 7.25" # ATP7.250-1LUB
*then proper nuts for the head bolts (if they are studs)
QTY 1 # is 208-6401 (8pk w/nuts)
QTY 1 # 400-8024 (10pk w/nuts & wash)

you will need to cut .25 off the long stud on the intake side for it wont hit the cam

ARP was very helpful in matching them up. The short ones are from a B18 and the long ones are from a VR6 VW. Just read up on install techniques i have read a few of them and seen a lot of debates on this. I installed mine hand tight and a few light turns with a torx bit and i never had any issues.
