Honda uses the following VIN formats and codes. Honda has slightly varied the usage of some positions within the VIN over the years. Consult the individual sections below for more information.

Production sequence number
Canadian models share same VIN as U.S. except that their sequence numbers start at 800000. It is also important to note that, in the U.S., positions 13-17 must be a number, whereas position 12 may be either a letter or a number.
