I went and got insurance today and when the lady punched my VIN into the computer it told her my car is a SEI not an LX. But the car has the LX badge on the back. Maybe this car was in a wreck and they used an LX ass end on it? I don't know how to find out if its truly an LX or not, any ideas? Here is the VIN:
1HGCA5538KA001731

Also, what is better, LX or SEI?

A few questions
1)is your car carb or injected.
2)does it have a leather interior or cloth
3)do you have rear disc brakes or drum brakes

Well that should be a LX....
Maybe you're vin # was switched at one point by one of the other owners

you can find the real vin in three places easily seen:
1-obvious dashboard
2-obvious doorpost driver side
3-not so obvious, front of firewall on passenger side

you'll pay a higher rate for an SEI, research the issue a bit.

Just compared my VIN on the dash to the one on the firewall and they match. And I don't understand what you just said 89turboed.

bummer, sounds like the car may have been flooded/stolen at one time and the interior and engine replaced :crying:
