View Full Version : 90-93 accord interference motor?

Hey guys
got a friend broken timing belt was wonder if its a crash motor or not.
Any help be appreciated. It a wagon is all I know at this point.

If it broke at low RPM's there shouldn't be any damage as far as have read before.

I talked to a tech at a Honda dealer before. He said that all Honda motors with a timing belt are interferance design. You can pull out the camshaft(s) & do a compression test on each cylinder. That'll give you a good idea if you bent a valve or put a hole in the top of the piston. That or a leak down test with compressed air with the cam pulled.
