i'm going to start masking tomorrow for the other side, it won't be too long before it's ready to block out and spray the final color on it. I still have to remove the hood scoop and spoiler to get them in primer, then I can paint. has anybody found a good source for replacing the trim strips along the front and quarter windows on the hatch?

Try checking the junkyard for those window trim pieces. If they aren't [eeling off you can paint them to. I did mine a while ago and they make a big diference towards the appearance of the car. It looks like you shaved your side moldings too so I guess you are not planning on putting the trim back on. Your car looks a whole lot better too.

I didn't shave them,I plugged the holes while the trim is off so water and paint don't get into my electronics. when I primered I just primered over the plugs,I'll pop them out when I'm done painting. I'm doing panda so I need the trim on there. it gives me the dividing line. the body just looked like crap before because of the different colored primers. the body itself is nearly perfect now. as far as finding 86 hatch moldings, I haven't seen a hatch in a junkyard here in years, they have to be 86 or 87, the 88 and 89 cars the door is a bit longer,so is under he window. I have 89 lxi trims and they don't fit.

Where is moutre ga? I know a couple yards in a few different places that probably have the trim you need. The problem I'm having in Ga, is finding a car of my color and finding a hood and driver fender.

oh a little history on the sign in the back ground, that used to be a distribution point for them in the twenties I believe.

History
The first product in the Royal Crown line was "Chero-Cola", followed by Royal Crown Ginger Ale, Royal Crown Strawberry and Royal Crown Root Beer. The company was renamed Chero-Cola, and in 1928 called Nehi Corporation after its colored and flavored drinks. In 1934, Chero-Cola was reformulated and re-released as Royal Crown Cola.

Your car looks awesome!

There is one thing that's bugging me a tiny bit though...

Your muffler seems to stick out a tiny bit too much. But other than that, I'm loving the progress.

they are facing the right way, they are marked left and right. everytime i get the tires changed they always put them on backwards:rant: . I've been working on my site and if you look under the current photos page, you'll see a link for both the sandblast pictures, and the bodywork pictures. you'll have to use the back key to return if you go into them, I have to modify the site to open in a different window.

i wonder if those rims would look bettter with the bright silver instead of graphite? I went through a lot of trouble to dismount those, media blast them, paint them and put the tires back on. those are first gen teg wheels. I might go bright silver.
